Biography of Rajasthan Governor –  Shilendra Kumar Singh

The Governor of Rajasthan, Shilendra Kumar Singh has also held the post of secretary-general of a policy institute.

The former governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Shilendra Kumar Singh presently serves as the Governor of the state of Rajasthan, India. The acting Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, Justice J M Panchal, administered the oath of office to Singh.

The state police gave a guard of honour to Singh and he took a salute. After the occasion while talking to media persons, he said ‘Rajasthan is progressing a lot’.

He also said that he would focus his attention on water and IT development. For him the areas of concern would be the water supply and desertification.

This former foreign secretary of India was born on 24th January 1932. He is a scholar of St Johns College, Agra. He was also once the secretary-general of a think tank which is also known as “a policy institute”in Delhi.

After that he became the governor of the state of Arunachal Pradesh. On 19th August 2007, after Pratibha Patil did quit for the Presidentship, S.K Singh was appointed as the Governor of Rajasthan.
