Language of Question Paper: Question Paper will be bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi (except for item at Sr. No V)
Marking Scheme for JEE Written Test: For each question you will be awarded on mark if you have darkened only one bubble corresponding to the correct answer. In case you have not darkened any bubble, you will be awarded zero mark for that question. There will be negative marking to the extent of half mark for darkening a wrong bubble. There will be no negative marking for S.N. iii (Service & Hospitality aptitude)
Merit List and Tie Breaking: The Category wise merit list of the selected candidates shall be based on marks secured in the Written Test. If two or more candidates have secured same marks in the Written Test, the marks obtained by the concerned candidates in the senior secondary examination i.e. 10+2 or equivalent will be taken into account for breaking the tie. The candidate awaiting result for 10+2 shall not be considered for tie breaker situation.
Result of Written Test: Result of Written Test shall be announced on the web site of the National Council in the First week of June, 2006.
Mailing of Call Letters to eligible candidates:
Call letters for Centralised Counselling, in order of merit under stipulated categories, shall be mailed by second week of June, 2006. Candidates whose name appear in the list but do not receive the call letter for Counselling by third week of June, 2006 can download their details from the web site (http:/www.nchmct.org) by entering their roll number and attend the Counselling at indicated date and time with the down loaded counselling letter.
Centralized Counselling at Air Force Auditorium, Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi
Centralized Counselling will be held on 26th June,2006 onwards for on the-spot allotment of Institute to candidates based on their merit and ranking in JEE-2006. Candidates called for centralized Counselling as per schedule at inner last page given should bring original and attested copies of following certificates:
Result of 10+2
Proof of Age as per Secondary School Certificates.
Original and Attested copies of Secondary Examination marksheet
Caste Certificate/ Handicapped Certificate (wherever applicable)
They should also bring a non refundable Demand Draft for Rs. 10,000/- drawn in favour of National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology payable at New Delhi.
Candidates placed in compartment in qualifying Examination in 2006 shall not be eligible for Counselling.
Withdrawal of Candidature at the Time of Counselling
Candidates are free to withdraw their candidature on spot at the time of Counselling. In that case, fee of Rs. 10,000/- deposited in the form of Demand Draft / Pay Order shall be returned to them on the spot. The part fee collected at them time of counseling shall not be refunded in any case including subsequent withdrawal.
Refund of Fee:
In case of withdrawal within a month from the date of admission at the allotted Institute, 50% of the total fee deposited at the allotted Institute will be refunded by the Institute with full amount of caution money. No fee will be refunded if admission is withdrawn after 30 days from the date of admission, on any ground except caution money.
Late Comer on the Day of Counselling
On the day of counseling if candidate reported late, such late comer will not be allowed to disturb the on-going counseling as per rank. However, such late comers of the day will be given chance for counseling at the end of day as per rank for allocation of seat available at that point of time. Candidate not reporting on allotted day of counseling shall not be entertained subsequently.
Merit Scholarships and Financial Assistance for SC candidates
National Council has instituted Merit Scholarships Scheme with the help of Industry for meritorious students who obtain Ist, IInd and IIIrd position on All India basis in Council’s Annual Examination in the Ist year, IInd year and IIIrd year of the course.
National Council also provides Financial Assistance to the tune of Rs. 20,000/- in a year to one of the most deserving Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidate who fulfill eligibility criteria as per stated guidelines given by National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology.
There will be no fees concession for candidates belonging to Scheduled Case/ Scheduled Tribe. Such candidates can however avail financial assistance from their respective State Governments for which the concerned Institute will issue studentship certificate indicating fee received from the student.
Commencement of Academic Session: Academic Session 2006-2007 will commence on 24th July, 2006 in all the institutes.
