Gujarat National Law University – GNLU
The Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003, created the Gujarat National Law University in 2003. It has released its notification for the first year of instruction for its three 5 year integrated courses, BA LLB, BSc LLB and BCom LLB. 60 seats have been planned for each course. 15% reservation for SC, 7.5% for ST and 10% for residents of Gujarat.
Eligibility – 50% in 10+2 examination or its equivalent. Those appearing for the 2004 March / April exam are also eligible. The age limit is below 20 years as on July 1, 2004. The age limit for SC ST students is 22 years as on July 1, 2004.
Course Structure :
GNLU offers 3 integrated 5 – year programs, BA LLB ( Hons ), BSc LLB ( Hons ) and BCom LLB ( Hons ). The University has proposed to allot 60 seats for each course. But this may be altered depending on the size of the response of students to the admissions for the first batch. Each academic year will have two semesters, a total of 10 semesters for the whole program. Each five – year program will consist of 3 kinds of subjects, base level courses, compulsory professional legal courses and language courses.
College Infrastructure :
The new projected GNLU campus will have all the facilities of a modern university. In addition to student accommodation students will also have access to personal lockers, a mess and University canteen, provisions for sports and games and even a health club and yoga center.
