Kerala CEE 2017 Law Entrance Exam

Applications are invited for the Kerala Entrance Examination for admission to Three Year LLB program for the academic year 2017 – 2018 in Government Law Colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kozhikode and in Private Self – financing Law Colleges of Kerala which have entered into seat sharing agreement with the State Government.

Kerala CEE 2017 LLB Eligibility

i. Nativity : Applicant should be an Indian citizen.

ii. Kerala CEE 2017 LLB Academic Qualifications :

Candidate seeking admission to the course should be a graduate in any faculty of any University in Kerala or of any other Universities, recognised by any of the Universities in Kerala as equivalent thereto.

A candidate who has passed the Bachelor’s Degree examination with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate ( i.e., 45% marks for all the parts of the Degree Examination taken together ) shall alone be eligible for admission to the 3 year LL.B course. However, candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes need only 42% marks and those belonging to the Scheduled castes / Scheduled Tribes need only 40% marks in the qualifying examination. No rounding off of percentage of marks to the nearest higher integer is permitted. Applicants who have obtained first degree certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for admission. The applicants who have obtained graduation / post graduation through open universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission.

Candidates who are appearing / appeared for the qualifying examination ( regular examination of 2016-17 academic years ) are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Such candidates become eligible for admission only if they produce the Provisional / Degree certificate of the qualifying examination and the mark lists of all parts of the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

iii. Age : There is no upper or lower age limit. 

CEE Kerala 2017 LLB Seat

The number of seats in the 4 Government Law Colleges and Private Self-Financing Law Colleges included in CAP 2016-17

Note: Allotment of Government merit seats in private Self Financing Law Colleges will be in accordance with the approval of the Government of Kerala and will be subject to the renewal of their University affiliation for the academic year 2017-18 and, accreditation of the institution by the Bar Council of India. New colleges may also be added to the list, subject to Government sanction and University affiliation.

CEE Kerala 2017 LLB Selection Process

Examination

A candidate desirous of joining the Three year LL.B Course in any of the Govt. Law Colleges in the State will have to write the Entrance Examination. The admission to the course will be based on the rank of the candidate in the Entrance Examination. The Entrance Examination will be conducted on the date and time as notified by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

The Entrance Examination shall be of three hours duration and will consist of 200 objective type questions in (a) General English (65 questions),(b) General Knowledge (65 questions) and (c) Aptitude for Legal Studies(70 questions).

The candidates have to mark their responses in the OMR Answer sheet given to them. The bubbles in the OMR Answer sheet should be filled up by using ballpoint (blue or black ink) pens only. 

If any candidate has any complaint regarding the answer keys, the same should be submitted to the CEE, in writing along with supporting documents and a fee of Rs.100/- per question by way of DD in favour of CEE, payable at Thiruvananthapuram, within 5 days from the date of publication of answer keys on the website of the CEE.If the complaint filed is found to be genuine, the fee remitted while filing the complaint will be refunded. Complaints received after the stipulated date and without requisite fee will not be considered under any circumstances. Complaints received by E-mail/Fax will not be considered on any account.

All complaints on Answer keys received will be referred to subject expert committees to be constituted by the CEE. The recommendations of the Committees will be final. Necessary modifications will be made in the published answer keys based on the recommendations of the committees and the marks for the deleted questions, if any, shall be distributed as per the ruling of the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala in 2002(3) KLT 871. Individual replies will not be given to the candidates on the decision of the Committees.

Qualifying Standards in Entrance Examination

To qualify and thereby figure in the rank list for admission to the Three Year LL.B Course, a General category candidate should get a minimum of 10% of total marks in the Entrance Examination and a candidate belonging to SC/ST category should get a minimum of 5% of total marks, the total marks being 600 in the Entrance Examination.

 

Kerala CEE 5 Year LLB

Applications are invited for the Kerala Entrance Examination for admission to Integrated Five Year LLB Program for the academic year 2017 – 2018 in the Four Government Law Colleges of Kerala and in Private Self Financing Law Colleges of Kerala.

Kerala CEE 2017 LLB Eligibility

Nativity : Applicant should be an Indian citizen.

Kerala CEE 2017 LLB Academic Qualifications :

Candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or any other examination recognised by the Universities in Kerala as equivalent thereto.

A candidate who has passed an examination in 10+2 Course of schooling recognised by the educational authority of the Central or State Government or possesses such academic qualifications which are considered equivalent to such 10+2 course by the Bar Council of India can also apply for admission to the course. Applicants who have obtained +2 Higher Secondary pass certificate or first degree certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for admission. The applicants who have obtained 10 +2 or graduation / post graduation through open universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission.

Candidates who are appearing / appeared for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Such candidates become eligible for admission only if they produce the Pass Certificate and Mark List of the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

No candidate shall be admitted to the Course, unless he/she has passed the qualifying examination with a minimum of 45% marks. However, candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes need only 42% marks and those belonging to the Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes need only 40% marks in the qualifying examination. No rounding off of percentage of marks to the nearest higher integer is permitted.

Age : The applicant should have completed 17 years of age, as on31.12.2017. The upper age limit for admission to the integrated five year LLB Course will be subject to the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. In case if age restriction under clause 28 of Legal Education Rules, 2008 of Bar Council of India is reinstated, only those candidates within the stipulated age limit will be allowed to appear for the Entrance Examination.

CEE Kerala 2017 LLB Seats

Allotment of Seats :

Allotment will be made by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations in accordance with the rank obtained by the candidates in the Entrance Examination and the order of preference of institutions ( options ) registered by the candidates during online Centralised Allotment Process ( CAP ). The details of CAP will be notified on the website and in leading newspapers. Individual intimation in this regard will not be sent to candidates.

Examination

Law Colleges of the State or in Government Merit seats in private self-financing law colleges of the State will have to write the Entrance Examination.
