RGNUL Entrance Exam 2018

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law or RGNUL, as it is popularly known, was set up in 2006 by an act of the Punjab Legislature. It offers both undergraduate and postgraduate law degrees. RGNUL is situated at Patiala in the state of Punjab, India. Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, located at Patiala, offers BA LLB, LLM Phil and PhD Programs. Its main goal is to provide good academic environment that enable them to be good professionals in the field of law.

RGNUL offers B.A., LL.B. ( Hons. ) A Five – Year Integrated Program with Social Sciences subjects like Economics, English, History, Political Science and Sociology are integrated with law subjects in the first two years of study. From third year, the curriculum comprises all law subjects.

All subjects are compulsory in the first three years of study. However, in the fourth and fifth year, students are offered optional subjects in the form of four streams i.e. Business and Intellectual Property Law, Criminal Law, Consumer Protection Law, Policy and Procedure, Human Rights Law and Practice.

RGNUL follows the Semester System where under the whole Five – Year Course is divided into Ten Semesters i.e. there arc Two Semesters in each Academic Year. The teaching methodology includes extensive and intensive classroom teaching aiming at participative learning.

RGNUL Law Entrance Exam 2018

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law Admission for Five Year Integrated BA LLB ( Hons ) and One Year LLM Program for the academic year 2018 – 2019. RGNUL Admission is based on Common Law Admission Test CLAT 2018.

RGNUL BA LLB Eligibility Criteria 2018

The Admission shall be based exclusively on merit in the Common Law Admission Test ( CLAT ). Eligibility criteria shall be as per CLAT 2018 rules.

  • The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination of the Punjab School Education Board or its equivalent with minimum 45% marks in the aggregate ( 40% marks for SC / ST ).
  • The candidates appearing in or awaiting results of the qualifying examination held or being held in March / April 2018 may also apply and
    appear for the Combined Law Admission Test ( CLAT ) provisionally, subject to the condition that they shall produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with the prescribed percentage of marks at the time of their interview / counseling.
  • The candidature of
    • Those who do not clear the qualifying examination with the requisite marks and or fail to produce result on the date of interview/ counseling, or
    • Those who get compartments / re-appear in any subject in the qualifying examination, shall be cancelled and subsequent securing qualifying marks shall not be considered in any case

Candidate applying in the SC / ST / SAP / State Resident category is required to submit category certificate from the competent authority.

RGNUL BA LLB Intake & Reservation 2018

The total number of seats for the B.A., LL.B. ( Hons. ) Five – Years Integrated Course shall be One Hundred and Eighty ( 180 ). Division of the seats shall be as under :

01 ( One ) seat is reserved for Ancestral Resident of Village Sidhuwal, District, Patiala.

Out of 180 seats there shall be Horizontal Reservation as under.

  • 05% ( i.e. 09 seats ) for Specially Abled Persons ( SAP ).
  • 10% ( i.e. 18 seats ) for Punjab Residents

Admission for Foreign Nationals 

Admission to the category of the ‘Foreign Nationals’ shall be the direct admission on the basis of inter-se merit of the qualifying examination and the interview. These candidates are to apply through CLAT form directly to the Registrar, RGNUL latest by 31st May, 2018

RGNUL 2018 LLM Eligibility 

The Admission shall be based exclusively on the merit of the Common Law Admission Test ( CLAT ). The candidate must have passed the B.A.LL.B.  / LL.B. / B.L. Degree examination from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law or any other University whose degrees are recognized equivalent by this University, with minimum 55% marks ( 50% marks for SC / ST ).

  • Candidates appearing in/awaiting results of the qualifying examination being held in April/May 2018 may also apply and appear provisionally for the Admission Test, subject to the condition that they shall produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with the prescribed marks at the time of interview/counselling.
  • The candidature of
