TS LAWCET 2017 Entrance Exam

Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test ( TS LAWCET ) invites admission Application for 3 & 5 year LLB programs for the academic session 2017 – 2018.

TSLAWCET 2017 Eligibility

3 year LL.B Course : The Candidates for 3 year LL.B. should have passed any Graduate Degree ( 10+2+3 pattern ) of a recognized University with 45% of aggregate marks or any other examination recognized ( 10+2+3 pattern ) as equivalent by the Universities concerned. If any candidate secured less than 45% in graduation he should have passed any additional graduation or post graduation with 45%.

5 Year LL.B. Course : The Candidates for 5 year LL.B. should have passed two year Intermediate Examination ( 10+2 pattern ) with 45% of aggregate marks or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the University concerned or the Board of Intermediate Education, T.S and Bar Council of India.

Note : The percentage of 39.5% or above in case of candidates belongs to SC / ST category and 44.5% or above in case of other categories will be considered as 40% and 45% respectively.

Note : There is a relaxation of 5% of marks in the above qualifying examinations for 3 year / 5 year Law course in favour of the Candidates belonging to SC / S.T.

TS LAWCET 2017 Exam Pattern

Test Paper Information : The Test is designed to evaluate the candidate’s ability and aptitude to pursue the study of Law. The Test consists of three parts. Total number of questions will be 120 and the duration of test is 90 minutes. Maximum marks are 120.

  • Part – A : Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks : General Knowledge and Mental Ability
  • Part – B : Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks : Current Affairs
  • Part – C : Consists of 60 questions carrying 60 marks : Aptitude for the Study of Law.

For 5 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Intermediate level and for 3 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Degree Level.

The questions in Part-C, Aptitude for the study of Law, elementary knowledge of the basic principles of the Law and Constitution of India on the Part of the Student is assumed

The Questions will be objective type including multiple choices questions, matching items. Each Question contains four alternative answers numbered as 1, 2, 3 and 4. Candidates have to exercise their choice in answering.

Medium of Entrance Test : The question paper will be set both in English and Telugu.

Qualifying marks in TSLAWCET 2017: The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 35% ( i.e. 42 marks out of total 120 marks ) . There will be no minimum qualifying marks for S.Cs & S.Ts for ranking.

TS LAWCET 2017 Application Form

A Candidate appeared / appearing for the above qualifying examinations may also apply the TSLAWCET – 2017 in anticipation of results. In case of such students, their entry shall be subject to the passing the qualifying examination and their securing eligible marks in the said qualifying examinations.

The applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation / post graduation through open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission into the law courses.

Age for admission : As per the conditions stipulated by the Bar Council of India in this behalf, vide BCILr . No .BCI : D 1519 ( LE : Cir -1 6 ) dated 17th September, 2016 , the maximum age limit for a candidate seeking admission into the 3 year LL.B Course shall be 30 ( Thirty ) Years ( relaxation by five years in case of SCs / STs and other Backward Communities ) and for 5 year LL.B. course shall be 20 ( Twenty ) years ( relaxation by two years in case of SCs / STs and other Backward Communities ) as on date of issue of notification for entrance examination.

Note : Age limit mentioned above is challenged in Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in W.P.No.1023 / 2016. Hon’ble Supreme Court imposed stay through an interim order on the above notification of BCI which imposed the age restriction in to Law Courses. Hence, there is no age limit for appearing TSLAWCET  2017 for seeking admission into 3 / 5 year courses. However, the admissions into the law courses shall be subject to the outcome of the pending case.

TS LAWCET 2017 Application Fees :

Registration fee for submission of application for 3 Year / 5 Year LL.B courses :

  • For Other candidates  : Rupee 350/-
  • For SC / ST candidates  :  Rupee 250/-
Last Date for  Submission of Application with Late fee :
  • Rupee 250/- from 19th April, 2017 to 28th April, 2017
  • Rupee 500/- from 29th April, 2017 to 6th May, 2017
  • Rupee 1000/-from 7th May, 2017 to 12th May, 2017
  • Rupee 1500/- from 13th May, 2017 to 15th May, 2017

Nationality and Domicile : The candidate should be an Indian National and should satisfy Local / Unreserved status requirement as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions ( Regulation of Admissions ) Order, 1974 and the amendments made thereto from time to time.

TS PGLCET 2017 Entrance Exam

Telanganna State Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test ( TS PGLCET ) invites admission Application for LL.M programs for the academic session 2017 – 2018.

TS PGLCET 2017 Courses Offered :

  • LL.M Courses are offered as full-time regular courses in the University Colleges, constituent / PG Colleges of the University and Private Law Colleges affiliated to the Universities.
  • The candidates seeking admission into LL.M. ( self-financing ) and LL.M. ( Private Appearance ) also need to qualify in the TSPGLCET 2017

TS PGLCET 2017 Eligibility

Educational qualifications :

  • Candidates holding LL.B. / B.L. 3  / 5 y e a r degree on the date of application and candidates who have appeared / appearing for LL.B. / B.L. Final year examination are also eligible.
  • A candidate appearing for LLB / BL 3 / 5 year degree final examinations may take the TS PGLCET in anticipation of results. However, he should pass the examination at the time of counseling
  • The Candidates seeking admission into LL.M.  ( Private Appearance )  of Osmania University, Hyderabad shall have a minimum experience of 3-years as a judicial officer or 3-years standing as an advocate on the date of appearing for TSPGLCET 2017.

Note : Mere appearance in TS PGLCET will not give any right of admission. The candidate should satisfy all the eligibility criteria and should satisfy rules governing admission as are applicable.

TS PGLCET 2017 Exam Pattern

Mode of Entrance Test :

  • A Single entrance test is conducted for all the courses of LL.M It is of 90 minutes duration and  consists of 120 questions of 1 mark each. Part-A consists of 40 questions; and Part -B consists of 80 questions of 1 mark each.
  • The candidates have to mark their responses on Optical Mark Reader (OMR ) answer sheet by darkening the relevant ovals with Ball Point Pen.
  • Hall Ticket is not transferable. Any tampering of Hall Ticket will automatically lead to the disqualification from appearing at the test and liable for prosecution.
  • Candidates are directed to carry to the examination hall a Ball Point Pen ( Blue or Black )

Medium of Entrance Test : The question paper will be in English only.

Hall Tickets and Rank Cards :

The candidates should note that the Hall Tickets and Rank Cards will not be sent by post. They have to download from the website as detailed below:

  • The candidates have to download the Hall Tickets from the website lawcet.tsche.ac.in one week before the Test by entering the application Number. Hence, the candidates are advised to note the application number.
  • The candidates are also advised to download the Rank Cards from the website www.lawcet.tsche.ac.in one week after the publication of results.
  • In case of any difficulty the candidates may contact the office of the TSPGLCET 2017, Phone 0870-2425595 for information.

The candidates are expected to be thorough in all related topics of Jurisprudence, Constitutional law, Public International law, Mercantile law, Labour laws, Crimes and Torts, IPR & other laws apart from the following topics.

Part – A : 40 Questions  ( 40 marks )

JURISPRUDENCE : 20 Questions  ( 20 marks )

Schools of Jurisprudence – Sources of Law, Custom Precedent and Legislation, Rights and duties – Ownership and Possession, Persons, Obligation, Property, Liability, Legal Sanctions.

CONSTITUTIONAL LAW : 20 Questions  ( 20 marks )

Nature of the constitution : Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles of State Policy, Executive Judiciary and Legislature, Center-State Relations, Emergency provisions, Amendments to the constitution.

Part – B : 80 Questions  ( 80 marks )

PUBLIC INTERNATIONAL LAW : 16 Questions  ( 16 marks ) 

International Law and Municipal Law, Subjects, State Territory, Air, Sea and outer space, Nationality and Statelessness, Extradition, Asylum, State Jurisdiction, United Nations.

MERCANTILE LAW : 16 Questions  ( 16 marks )

General Principles of Contract (Sections. 1-75, Indian Contract Act-1872).

LABOUR LAW : 16 Questions  ( 16 marks )
