TS LAWCET 2018 Entrance Exam

Telanganna State Law Cmmon Entrance Test ( TS LAWCET ) invites admission Application for 3 & 5 year LLB programs for the academic session 2018 – 2019.

TSLAWCET 2018 Eligibility

3 year LL.B Course : The Candidates for 3 year LL.B. should have passed any Graduate Degree ( 10+2+3 pattern ) of a recognized University with 45% of aggregate marks or any other examination recognized ( 10+2+3 pattern ) as equivalent by the Universities concerned. If any candidate secured less than 45% in graduation he should have passed any additional graduation or post graduation with 45%.

5 Year LL.B. Course : The Candidates for 5 year LL.B. should have passed two year Intermediate Examination ( 10+2 pattern ) with 45% of aggregate marks or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the University concerned or the Board of Intermediate Education, T.S and Bar Council of India.

Note : The percentage of 39.5% or above in case of candidates belongs to SC / ST category and 44.5% or above in case of other categories will be considered as 40% and 45% respectively.

Note : There is a relaxation of 5% of marks in the above qualifying examinations for 3 year / 5 year Law course in favour of the Candidates belonging to SC / S.T.

TS LAWCET 2018 Exam Pattern

Test Paper Information : The Test is designed to evaluate the candidate’s ability and aptitude to pursue the study of Law. The Test consists of three parts. Total number of questions will be 120 and the duration of test is 90 minutes. Maximum marks are 120.

  • Part – A : Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks : General Knowledge and Mental Ability
  • Part – B : Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks : Current Affairs
  • Part – C : Consists of 60 questions carrying 60 marks : Aptitude for the Study of Law.

For 5 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Intermediate level and for 3 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Degree Level.

The questions in Part-C, Aptitude for the study of Law, elementary knowledge of the basic principles of the Law and Constitution of India on the Part of the Student is assumed

The Questions will be objective type including multiple choices questions, matching items. Each Question contains four alternative answers numbered as 1, 2, 3 and 4. Candidates have to exercise their choice in answering.

Medium of Entrance Test : The question paper will be set both in English and Telugu.

Qualifying marks in TS LAWCET-2018 : The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 35% ( i.e. 42 marks out of total 120 marks ) . There will be no minimum qualifying marks for S.Cs & S.Ts for ranking.

TS LAWCET 2018 Application Form

A Candidate appeared / appearing for the above qualifying examinations may also apply the TSLAWCET – 2018 in anticipation of results. In case of such students, their entry shall be subject to the passing the qualifying examination and their securing eligible marks in the said qualifying examinations.

The applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation / post graduation through open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission into the law courses.

Age for admission : As per the conditions stipulated by the Bar Council of India in this behalf, vide BCILr . No .BCI : D 1519 ( LE : Cir -1 6 ) dated 17th September, 2018 , the maximum age limit for a candidate seeking admission into the 3 year LL.B Course shall be 30 ( Thirty ) Years ( relaxation by five years in case of SCs / STs and other Backward Communities ) and for 5 year LL.B. course shall be 20 ( Twenty ) years ( relaxation by two years in case of SCs / STs and other Backward Communities ) as on date of issue of notification for entrance examination.

Note : Age limit mentioned above is challenged in Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in W.P.No.1023 / 2016. Hon’ble Supreme Court imposed stay through an interim order on the above notification of BCI which imposed the age restriction in to Law Courses. Hence, there is no age limit for appearing TSLAWCET – 2018 for seeking admission into 3 / 5 year courses. However, the admissions into the law courses shall be subject to the outcome of the pending case.

  • For Other candidates  : Rupee 350/-
  • For SC / ST candidates  :  Rupee 250/-
Last Date for  Submission of Application with Late fee
  • Rupee 500/- from 02nd May, 2018
  • Rupee 1000/- from 09th May, 2018
  • Rupee 2000/-from 16th May, 2018
  • Rupee 4000/- from 23rd May, 2018

Nationality and Domicile : The candidate should be an Indian National and should satisfy Local / Unreserved status requirement as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions ( Regulation of Admissions ) Order, 1974 and the amendments made thereto from time to time.
