PET Madhya Pradesh Entrance Examination Details

State-level Professional Examination Test (PET) is conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (Vyavasayik Pariksha Mandal) (MPPEB) Bhopal every year generallyin the month of May for selection of candidates for admision to B.E. / B. Arch. degree course of the following State Engineering Colleges (Government and non-Government): Engineering Colleges (Government and non-Government):

  • Government Engineering College, Bilaspur
  • Government Engineering College, Gwalior.
  • Government Engineering College, Indore
  • Government Engineering College, Jabalpur
  • Government Engineering College, Raipur
  • Government Engineering College, Jagdalpur
  • Government Engineering College, Rewa
  • Indira Gandhi Government Engineering College, Sagar
  • Government Engineering College, Ujjain
  • Government Engineering College, Maharana Pratap Nagar, Bhopal
  • College of Agricultural Engineering, Jabalpur
  • Maulana Azad College of Technology, Bhopal
  • Government Engineering College, Vidisha.
Minimum Qualification - PET Entrance Exam

Candidates should have passed B.Sc. (Part-I) of any University in MP / +2 examination of 10+2 scheme of MP Board of Secondary Education or any other equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects. For admission to B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) and B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) the candidates should have cleared in English paper also. Government nominees should secure 55 per cent in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. First class diploma holders and candidates who have already appeared in the 10+2 / B.Sc. (Part-I) examination are also eligible to apply though compartmental candidates are debarred from sitting in the admission test.

The Test is held usually in the month of May.

Reservations - PET Entrance Exam:

SC-15 per cent: ST-21 per cent; Military Personnel - 5 per cent; Government of India nominees - 3 per cent; Children / Grand children of freedom fighters - 3 per cent.

Allocation of Seats - PET Entrance Exam:
  • Category (i) The candidates passing from schools in the Union Territory of Delhi - 85% seats.
  • Category (ii) The candidates passing from School and Colleges located outside the Union Territory f Delhi - 15% seats.
Age Limit - PET Entrance Exam

Not more than 21 years on October 1 of the year of admission (relaxable by 3 years in case of SC/ST).

Selection Procedure - PET Entrance Exam:

Selection of candidates in respect of MP quota in the Maulana Azad College of Technology, Bhopal and other 16 Regional Engineering Colleges was also done on the basis of result of the Combined Examination. Besides that, PET is also conducted for admission to B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering & Dairy Technology) course in College of Agricultural Engineering, Jabalpur and Dairy Technology, Raipur. All admissions (except for Government of India nominees and other reservations) to these colleges are made from the merit list prepared by the Mandal on the basis of Entrance Examination. Common details in respect of all these colleges are given below.

Selection (except Government nominees) is made on the basis of merit in the PET. The syllabus for the PET is the same as prescribed by the Board of Secondary Education, MP for their Higher Secondary Exam. The PET is conducted in the April / May through Objective Type questions in Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Candidates aspiring for B.Arch. course would have to appear for an Aptitude Test.

Application Procedure - PET Entrance Exam:

Application form for Entrance Test can be purchased in cash from the office of Professional Examination Boad or any of the State Engineering Colleges. If an application form is desired by post an A/C Payee Bank Draft or requisite amount drawn on any Nationalised Bank in favour of Controller, Professional Examination Board at Bhopal can be sent to the Board Office.

Last Date for PET Entrance Exam:

Last date of submission of duly completed application form is in the month of January / February.

Bhopal, Bilaspur, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Jagdalpur, Raipur, Bhilai, Rewa, Sagar, Ujjain, Durg and Vidiasha,m Ambikapur, Chhatarpur, Guna, Hoshangabad, Khandwa, Mandsaur, Raigarh, Rajnandgaon, Shahdol, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneshwar, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Delhi, Patna.

Allotment of College / Institution - PET Entrance Exam:

A candidate selected for a particular course will be allotted a given College / Institution according to the criteria mentioned in admission rules for that particular course and on the basis of preferences indicated by the concerned candidate for the institution in the computer from giving weightage to his merit marks in the corresponding course.
