Eligibility for IIBF Entrance Exam 2008:
Any person who is a graduate (in any discipline of study, including Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Technology or Management) or above from any University recognized by UGC or students appearing for final year graduation will be eligible to enroll for the examination. (For the final year graduate students, the DBF Certificate will be issued only on successful completion of the graduation course and production of Graduation Certificate).
IIBF Submission of Applications
The following options are available for submitting applications and making payments:
On-line Submission of Application (both for the course and examination) against making payment by Credit Card using Payment Gateway.
Submission of application form to the below mentioned address by making cash payment at any of the branches of the Axis Bank Ltd. (formerly, UTI Bank Ltd.) and attaching the Payment Receipt (IIBF's Copy) to the application.
Submission of application form with Demand Draft for the requisite amount drawn in favour of "Indian Institute of Banking & Finance" payable at Manipal.

Refund of Fees: No request for refund of fees will be entertained if the application forms submitted are found to be in order. Refund will be made for the application forms rejected.
IIBF Examination Centres: As per the list attached to the Application/given on the IIBF's website. Examination shall be conducted at any of the listed centres provided minimum 25 candidates enroll.
Photo Identity Card and Examination Admit Card:
All the candidates whose applications were accepted will be issued, well in advance, a Photo Identity Card and Examination Admit Card indicating the venue and time-table for the examination. The Examination Admit Card will also be available from the website of the Institute. The Photo Identity Card and Examination Admit Card should be produced in the examination hall for each appearance.
Medium of Examination: The examination will be conducted through the medium of English only.
Duration of Examination: Duration of the Examination would be 120 minutes for each subject. Approximately 120 multiple choice questions to be answered in each paper.
Negative Marking: Negative marking will be applied in case of wrong answers at half of inverse proportion to the number of choices given in the question. For example, 1 mark question with 4 choices will have 1/8 as negative mark, if answered wrongly.
IIBF Questions Pattern: The questions, of three difficulty levels, viz., basic, intermediate, and advanced level, are designed to test the following
Knowledge
Conceptual grasp
Decision making
Problem solving
Case analysis
There could be a case study with a set of about 5 questions.
Passing Criteria:
Pass: Minimum 50% or more marks in aggregate with 45% or more in individual subjects in a single attempt.
First Class: 70% or more marks in first attempt.
First Class with Distinction: 80% or more marks in the first attempt.
Note:
Repeaters will not be eligible for First Class and Distinction titles.
All the successful candidates will be ranked in order of merit.
Candidates have to pass all 3 papers in single attempt to get the qualification.
Repeaters need to re-register for the examination and appear for all papers.
IIBF Mode of Examination: Examination will be conducted both on-line and off-line mode as per the option exercised by the candidates.
Declaration of Results: Declaration of the results will be within four weeks from the last date of the examination. Candidates appearing on-line mode will have their marks at the end of the test, but for them also official declaration of results will be along with off-line candidates' results.
Issue of Certificate: DBF Certificate, indicating Order of Merit, will be issued to the successful candidates within two weeks from the date of declaration of results.
Verification of Marks:
No request for re-valuation of the candidate's paper will be entertained.
In case of off-line examination, if the candidate requires his/her marks to be verified, he/she may request the Institute accordingly. The request for verification of marks must be received in the Institute's Corporate Office at Mumbai within one month from the date of the declaration of the examination results.
The candidate will have to pay a sum of Rs.150/- for the verification of marks for each subject of the diploma examination. The payment should be made by means of MICR crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of " Indian Institute of Banking & Finance" and made payable at Mumbai. The candidates should write their Registration Number communicated to them on the Examination Admit Card on the reverse of the draft and on the application for verification of marks.
No verification of marks will be done for on-line examination as evaluation is computerized.
