MBA - Master of Business Administration

Two-year, Full-time Residential Program

The program follows a trimester system. The first year consists of compulsory foundation courses. The second year consists of a few compulsory courses and several elective courses. The summer project is scheduled at the end of the first year. The program offers major and minor specializations in the second year. The important themes running across courses are: Internationalism, Ethics and Information Technology. The Program is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The MBA degree of the University is recognized as equivalent to MBA degree of any other Indian University.

No of Seats Available : 120

Fifteen percent of the intake is likely to be allocated for admissions to Person of Indian Origin (PIO)/Foreign Nationals and Non Resident Indians (NRIs).

Eligibility for Nirma University Entrance Exam 2008

A three-year bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) or its equivalent in any discipline from a statutory university with atleast 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA. Candidates appearing in the final examination of a bachelor’s degree can also apply.

Last Date for Receiving Nirma University Application Form

Completed application forms must be returned by November 30, 2007. Candidates in the category of Person of Indian Origin (PIO)/Foreign Nationals and Non Resident Indians (NRIs). Should enclose a bank draft for US$ 50 or Rs.2000/- drawn in favour of “Institute of Management’ ‘Nirma University’ and payable at Ahmedabad along with the completed application form.

Nirma University Selection Process

The selection procedure for admission consists of two steps :

Written Test

Applicants for the full-time program are required to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the IIMs which will be held on 18th November 2007.

Group Discussion and Personal Interview

Candidates short-listed on the basis of their performance in the written test will be called for group discussion and personal interview. The group discussion/personal interview will be held at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, and New Delhi. The final selection to the program would be based on the candidate’s performance in the written test, group discussion, personal interview and work experience.

The following weightage will be given for each component of the selection criteria :

• Written Test : 70%
• Personal Interview : 20%
• Group Discussion : 10%

An additional score upto 10 points for work experience will also be given for full-time work experience at managerial level in a professional organization.
