AIPMT 2015 Eligibility Criteria

1. AIPMT 2015 Eligibility for 15% All India Quota Seats

  1. He / She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his / her admission to the 1st year MBBS / BDS Course and is an Indian National.
  2. The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the AIPMT 2014 Entrance Examination. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 ( five ) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes / Other Backward Classes. Candidate must born on or between :
    1. 01.01.85 to 01.01.98 ( SC / ST / OBC Category )
    2. 01.01.90 to 01.01.98 ( Other Category )
  3. Candidates from Andhra Pradesh and J&K
    1. Students from the States of Andhra Pradesh and J&K are Not Eligible for 15% all India quota seats as both these States had opted out of All India Scheme since its inception. If they claim eligibility, they must submit an affidavit, in original, as per proforma on non – judicial Stamp Paper of Rupee 10/- duly sworn in before and attested by a Metropolitan Magistrate / First Class Judicial Magistrate to the effect that :
      • They are not eligible to seek admission for MBBS / BDS seats in Medical / Dental Colleges in the States of Andhra Pradesh and J&K.
      • They are not domiciled in Andhra Pradesh and J&K.
    2. Applications not accompanied with the required affidavits as per given format or accompanied with incomplete, unattested or photocopy of the affidavit shall be summarily rejected without any further reference in the matter. The affidavits submitted by such candidates will be verified and if found to be false, the admission of all such candidates shall be cancelled and criminal proceedings may be initiated against them.

2. Eligibility for seats under the control of participating States / Universities / Institutions and AFMC

  • He / she has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his / her admission to the 1st year MBBS / BDS Course and is an Indian National.
  • Overseas Citizens of India ( OCI ) may also appear in AIPMT for admission in seats under the control of participating States / Universities / Institutions subject to rules and regulations of the Government of India, respective State Governments and the University / Institution concerned. OCI candidates may verify eligibility norms of participating States / Universities / Institutions before applying for AIPMT 2015.
  • The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under seats in the control of participating States / Universities / Institutions shall be as per their rules and regulations.
  • Candidates from the States of Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh can appear in AIPMT for admission to AFMC, Pune.

AIPMT 2015 Qualifications and Qualifying Examination Codes

Code : 01

A candidate who is appearing in the qualifying examination, i.e., 12th Standard in 2014 whose result is awaited, may apply and take up the said test but he / she shall not be eligible for admission to the MBBS or BDS, if he / she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks at the time of first round of Counselling.

Code : 02

The Higher / Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher / Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio – technology ( which shall include practical tests in these subjects ) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.

Note : Where the course content is not as prescribed for 10 +2 education structure of the National Committee, the candidates will have to undergo a period of one year pre – professional training before admission to the Medical Colleges. ( OR )

Code : 03

The Intermediate / Pre – degree Examination in Science of an Indian University / Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio - technology ( which shall include practical test in these subjects ) and English as a compulsory subject. ( OR )

Code : 04

The Pre – professional / Pre – medical Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio – technology & English after passing either the Higher Secondary Examination or the Pre – University or an equivalent examination. The Pre – professional / Pre – medical examination shall include practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject. ( OR )

Code : 05

The first year of the three year’s degree course of a recognized University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Bio – technology including practical tests in these subjects provided the examination is a University Examination and candidates has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio – technology with English at level not less thank a core course. ( OR )

Code : 06

BSc Examination of an Indian University provided that he / she has passed the BSc Examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology ( Botany, Zoology ) / Bio – technology and further that he / she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. ( OR )

Code : 07

Any other examination which in scope and standard ( Last 02 years of 10+2 Study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Bio – technology; Which shall include practical test in these subjects. ) is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University / Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Bio – technology including practical tests in each of these subjects and English.

Provided that to be eligible for competitive entrance examination, candidate must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as enumerated above or appearing in the qualifying examination in 2014. Provided also that to be eligible for competitive Entrance Test the candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio – technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Bio – technology at the qualifying examination as mentioned of regulation 4 on Graduate Medical Education 1997 and in addition must have come in the merit list of All India Pre – Medical / Pre – Dental Entrance Test ( AIPMT 2014 ) for admission to MBBS / BDS courses.

In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Bio – technology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 40% marks instead of 50% marks for General Candidates. Further, for persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs, minimum of 45% marks for Gen – PH and 40% marks for SC – PH / ST – PH / OBC – PH are required.

Provided further that the students educated abroad seeking admission into medical colleges in India must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio – technology and English upto the 12th standard level with 50% marks and their equivalency determined as per regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University. If a candidate does not fall within the qualifications prescribed as per Code number 01 – 07 he / she should furnish complete details to determine eligibility.

Note :

  • The Pre – medical course may be conducted either at a Medical College or at a Science College.
  • After the 10+2 course is introduced the integrated courses be abolished.
  • Marks obtained in Mathematics are not to be considered for admission to MBBS / BDS Courses.

AIPMT 2015 Reservation Seats

i. AIPMT Reservation of Seats in Government Medical Colleges under 15% All India Quota :

1. 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates.

2. 7.5% seats are reserved for ST candidates.

3. 27% seats are reserved for non – creamy layer OBC candidates in Central Educational Institutions only as per Hon’ble Supreme Court order dated 10.04.2008. Reservation would be applicable to the castes mentioned in the Central list of OBC. Thus, the candidates falling in this list may mention OBC in the Category Column in application form. Candidates from creamy layer and do not come under Central List of OBC are advised to mention their category as General.

4. 3% seats are reserved on horizontal basis for Physically Handicapped candidates ( only for locomotory disabilities of lower limbs between 50% to 70%, provided that in case any seat in this 3% quota remains unfilled on account of unavailability of candidates with locomotory disability of lower limbs between 50% to 70% then any such unfilled seat in this 3% quota shall be filled up by persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs between 40% to 50% before they are included in the seats of respective category ) in 15% All India UG quota seat.

Detailed information in this regard is available on the website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare – www.mohfw.nic.in. Candidates who considered themselves eligible for this category are advised to ensure their eligibility by getting themselves examined at any Government Medical College / District Hospital / Government Hospital.

However, candidates may kindly note that in case of selection under PH category, they will be required to produce Disability Certificate from one of the disability assessment boards, constituted at the four metro cities, mentioned below, before their schedule date of AIPMT counselling :

  • Madras Medical College, Park Town, Chennai – 600 003 ( Phone No. : 044 – 25305301 ).

Reservation will be made as per 2200 point reservation roster. The mode of implementation of reservation will be available on DGHS website : www.mohfw.nic.in.

ii. Admission in State Medical Colleges / Universities / Institutions / AFMC for seats other than 15% All India Quote :

1. In case a State / University / Institution opts to admit students in its medical colleges from the merit list of AIPMT 2015, it may prepare separate rank list based on All India rank in AIPMT and other criteria decided by it.

2. List of States / Universities / Institutions that have decided to use the result of AIPMT 2015. Candidates seeking admission in seats other than 15% All India Quota are advised to visit the websites of State / University / Institution and contact their authorities concerned in advance for eligibility criteria and other details for admission.

3. Admission to Armed Forces Medical College ( AFMC ), Pune shall be subject to the norms prescribed by the Directorate of Armed Force medical Services, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Candidates who apply for AIPMT 2015 and also seeking admission in AFMC will have to apply on the website of AFMC www.afmc.nic.in / www.afmc.dg1d.gov.in. The short listed candidates will be required to appear for a second stage Screening conducted by AFMC. Candidates are advised to contact AFMC for further details.

  • Respected Sir, i have filled the aipmt form but i received a letter saying that the affidavit sent by me was not as per the rule(the affidavit is attested by notary) i was not able to send the fresh affidavit, but still my admit card is available , so am eligible to write the exam. plz reply fast so that i can take fast action.

  • The lower age limit for AIPMT Entrance Exam should not be there as There is the requirement of passing the 12th Examination. Which itself fulfills the requirement of age. But by giving the lower age limit some of the candidates becomes ineligible for the exam. Please check and do the needful to correct this anomaly. Upper age limit is OK.

  • My son is studying A1 levels of Cambridge Course Grade 12. He is Citizen of India. He has studied all 12 years in Africa and his creer ambition is to pusue medical education. He has secured A* in O (Grade 11) levels in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English. He also expects good grades in A1 levels i.e for Grade 12.
