3. Eligibility Criteria for AIPVT 2008 :
Qualifying Examination:
(i) A candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination ( after a period of 12 years of study) the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training or equivalent qualification as prescribed in the Veterinary Council of India - Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education –Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & A.H) Regulations, 1993.
OR
Candidates who have passed the B.Sc. examination from a recognised University with not less than two of the following subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany/ Zoology), and has passed the earlier qualifying examination with the following subjects - Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
(ii) To be eligible for appearing in entrance examination, the candidates must have passed the qualifying Examination obtaining not less than 50% of the aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. In respect of candidates belonging to the SC/ST or other special category of students as specified by the Government from time to time, marks required at the qualifying examination shall be 10% less than that prescribed for general category.
(iii) A candidate who is taking up the qualifying examination prior to the Entrance Examination, or whose result is awaited, may also apply and take the examination but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the B.V.Sc. &A.H. Programme, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required percentage of marks as prescribed at 3(ii) above, on or before 30th June, 2008 and submit the documentary proof during counseling, if selected.
4. Age Limit: The candidate has attained or will attain age of seventeen (17) years on 31st December, 2008.
5. AIPVT 2008 Application Form:
A desirous Candidate can submit the Application Form for the All India Pre – Veterinary Test in the following two ways:
(A) Online:
Online submission of application may be made by accessing the Council’s website www.vci-india.in Candidates are required to take a printout of the Online Application Form after successful submission of data Online. The print out of the computer generated Form, complete in all respect as applicable for offline submission should be sent by registered / speed post only to,

Candidate should remit the examination fee Rs. 700/- for General/Other category and Rs. 350/- for SC/ST Category through a Demand Draft in favour of the “Veterinary Council of India Examination Fund” payable at New Delhi drawn on any nationalized bank. Instructions for online submission of Application form will be made available on the website www.vci-india.in w.e.f. 01.01.2008 (10.00 A.M.) to 15.2.2008 (5.00 P.M).
(B) Offline:
(a) The Information Bulletin and Application Form can be obtained by post on payment of Rs 750/- for General Category and Rs.400/- for SC/ST category (including examination fee, handling and other charges) through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of "Veterinary Council of India Examination Fund" payable at New Delhi on any Scheduled Bank from the office of,

While requesting Information Bulletin and Application Form, the candidates should send:-
(i) Demand Draft (Cash/ Money order/Indian Postal Order/ Cheque or any other form of payment will NOT be accepted. Demand Draft issued prior to the date of advertisement will not be accepted).
(ii) Two plain paper slips with complete address (in CAPITAL LETTERS) with PIN-code.
