Directorate of Medical Education Andhra Pradesh Online Applications from the eligible male and female candidates belonging to Andhra Pradesh State only are invited for admission into 1 st year of Three years General Nursing and Midwifery course and ( 6 ) Six months Internship for the year 2012 – 2013 batch which is being imparted in the ( 9 ) ( Nine ) Government Schools of Nursing attached to the following Government Teaching and General Hospitals.

DME GNM Eligibility Criteria 2012

DME GNM Educational Qualification :

  1. Candidates should have passed XII class or Intermediate or its equivalent examination preferable with Science subjects. Candidates who have passed ANM course of 18 months are eligible to admit in to GNM course and they are exempted 6 months duration in GNM course subject to the condition that they shall under go the revised training program as laid by the Indian Nursing Council New Delhi.
  2. The aggregate marks of minimum 45 % in Intermediate or its equivalent examination are fixed by the Indian Nursing Council for admissions in to Nursing Schools ( for admissions into General Nursing and Midwifery Course ). The same is relaxed in favor of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes candidates and they shall be eligible if they passed, Intermediate or its equivalent examination.
  3. In respect of DME GNM admission of general category candidates for the said course, i.e., for O.C. candidates, the condition of minimum 45 % aggregate marks in intermediate or its equivalent examination should be followed as per the Indian Nursing Council regulations.After first phase of Notification, counseling and wide publicity, if vacancies of General Category seats are unfilled and the candidates of OC category are not available with 45 % aggregate marks in Intermediate or in its equivalent examination, then only the unfilled vacancies in the General Category shall be filled up with OC candidates with a pass in Intermediate or its equivalent examination. The existing Rule of Reservation as being implemented now shall be followed.

DME GNM Age Limit :

The minimum age for DME GNM shall be 16 years completed and enter 17th year as on the 1st July of the year and shall not have completed 35 years of age. The upper age limit for the candidates belonging to SC, ST and BC’s is relaxable by 3 years.

DME GNM Online Application Form Submission 2012

1. The DME GNM Online admission application form is available in the ” Director of Medical Education, A.P., Hyderabad “ official website i.e, http://dme.ap.nic.in and the same is available from 11th July, 2012 to 09th August, 2012.

2. Follow the below given steps for DME submission of online GNM Admission application.

  1. Pay for DME GNM registration fee of Rupee 100 /- ( Rupees One hundred only ) through a Government challan crediting to the following Head of Account at State Bank of Hyderabad / State Bank of India at respective places.
    • 0210 – Medical and Public Health.
    • 03 – Medical Education Training and Research.
    • MH 105 – Allopathy.
    • SH ( 81 ) – Other receipts.
    • 001 – Other receipts.
  2. Log on to DME Official Website i.e., http://dme.ap.nic in for DME GNM online application form. Fill up all the mandatory fields ( * ) as per the instructions given in the online application and press submit button.
  3. Download / Print the filled in DME GNM application form and submit the same with necessary enclosures as per the details noted in the application form.The downloaded DME GNM applications should reach the Superintendents of the Hospitals concerned on or before 14th August, 2012 by 5.00 P.M.

3. The DME GNM department will not be held responsible for any postal delays for non – receipt of applications on or before the stipulated date i.e. 14th August, 2012 by 5.00 P.M.

4. The local candidates belonging to the Districts mentioned under column 1 below should send their DME GNM applications to the School of Nursing attached to the hospitals mentioned under column 2.

DME GNM Selection Process 2012

  1. The DME GNM Online admission applications is being introduced from this academic year 2012 – 2013.
    • The DME GNM detailed notification and online application is available in the DME official website http://dme.ap.nic.in.
    • Every Superintendent will be provided with User ID and Password for verification of On – line applications received by them.
    • After selection of the candidates, they have to indicate the selected candidates through online.
    • The DME downloaded only online filled in GNM applications along with Registration Fee and relevant enclosures have to be accepted.
  2. Selections will be made purely on merit, on the basis of aggregate marks obtained by the Candidates in the group subjects, excluding languages.
    • In deciding merit candidates who qualify under compartmental system will be placed after candidates who passed in a single attempt.
  3. Incomplete DME GNM applications or applications submitted without attested copies of relevant documents will be rejected.
  4. The SC / ST / BC candidates should furnish the prescribed Caste Certificate given at attachment at Annexure – I signed by the competent authority not below the
    rank of Mandal Revenue Officer.
  5. 85 % of DME GNM seats in local area are reserved in favour of local candidates in relation to the local area and the remaining seats are un – reserved as per A.P. Educational Institutions
  6. Out of the DME GNM seats available for admission – 15 % for SC, 6 % for ST and 25 % for BCs are reserved.
  7. Waiting list with Ten ( 10 ) eligible candidates may be selected extra for waiting list for each Institution to avoid second time selection process.

The DME admission into 1st year of Three years General Nursing and Midwifery Course and Six months Internship ( for Male and Female candidates ) for the academic year 2012 – 2013 in respect of Private Schools of Nursing.

DME GNM Eligibility Criteria 2012

DME GNM Educational Qualification :

DME GNM Availability of Seats 2012

  • The candidates also be informed in the DME GNM admission notification that the recognition status of the schools of Nursing with regard to Indian Nursing Council / Andhra Pradesh Nursing and Midwifery Council can be verified in the respective websites : www.indiannursingcouncil.co.in, nmcouncil.ap.nic.in.
  • The DME GNM Department will not be held responsible for the admission of the candidates in a non – recognized Institutions.
  • For each private Nursing School they should clearly specify the number of DME GNM seats available under Free and Management Seats ( 60 % : 40 % seats respectively ) together with the tuition fee payable in respect of free seats and management seats in terms of the G.O’s cited.
  • For the Management Seats, the candidates are required to fill up the DME GNM online application, download the filled – in application and submit the same along with the Management quota lists to the selection committee for its approval.

DME GNM Online Application Form Submission 2012

1. The DME GNM Online Application form for Convener Quota seats / Management quota seats are available in the Director of Medical Education, A.P., Hyderabad official website i.e,
http://dme.ap.nic.in . and the same is available from 11th July, 2012 to 14th August, 2012.

Download / Print the filled in DME GNM application form and submit the same with necessary enclosures to the concerned District Medical and Health Officers either in person or by Registered post with due acknowledgement for both Convenor and Management quota seats. The downloaded DME GNM applications should reach the Office of the DM and HO’s concerned on or before 14th August 2012 by 5.00 P.M. ( for convenor quota seats )

DME GNM last date for submission of application form :

  • For Management quota OF DME GNM seats, the last date for Payment of registration fee / submission of DME GNM online application / Downloaded filled – in DME GNM applications is 28th August, 2012 at the Office of the DM and HO’s concerned.
  • The Department of DME GNM will not be held responsible for any postal delays for non – receipt of applications on or before the stipulated date i.e. 14th August, 2012 by 5.00 PM.

DME GNM Selection Process 2012

  1. Entire process of DME GNM selection has to be completed by 31st August, 2012. As soon as the DME GNM selection procedure is completed as per the above instructions and guidelines, the DME GNM selection lists should be submitted to this office duly approved by the Selection Committee members on or before 15th September, 2012 without fail. The DME GNM selection list should indicate very clearly the number of candidates under free and management quota for each private nursing schools separately.
  2. The Rule of reservation shall be strictly followed while making the DME GNM selection for both Free and Management Seats.
  3. It is also needless to say that they should follow the rules in force regulating the reservation to the local candidates as prescribed by the Education Department from time to time.
  4. The District Medical and Health Officers are requested to make it clear to the Management of the Private Schools of Nursing that the advertisement charges for Free seats and Management Seats to be published in the news papers has to be borne by the Private Schools of Management themselves.
  5. Further the District Medical and Health Officers concerned are requested to follow the above instructions strictly while making admissions for General Nursing and Midwifery 3 years and 6 months course for the Academic year 2012 – 2013.
