The Office of The Surgeon General of Maharashtra state was separated on 1st May 1970, into two independent directorates namely The Directorate of Medical Education and Research & The Directorate of Health Services.

Directorate of Medical Education and Research supervises the working of 42 institutions including Medical and Dental Colleges, Teaching Hospitals and Health Units under its purview in order to achieve optimum academic standards. Promotion of research in institutions is encourages. Despite existing financial constraints, efforts are made to provide maximum facilities required for students education ( Under Graduate, Post Graduate, Super Specialties ), hospital services and research.

MH PGM CET 2017 Entrance Exam

Maharashtra Entrance Examination for admission to Medical Postgraduate Courses ( MD / MS / Diploma ) Courses for the academic year 2017 – 2018.

Maharashtra PGM CET 2017 Eligibility

  • Candidate must be an Indian National. Nationality Certificate issued by District Magistrate or Additional District Magistrate or Chief Metropolitan Magistrate or valid passport or School Leaving ( SSC ) / Jr. College Leaving Certificate of HSC / 12th Std. indicating the nationality of the candidate as “Indian”shall constitute the proof of nationality. [ Persons of Indian Origin ( PIO ) / Non Resident Indians ( NRI ) / Overseas Citizen of India ( OCI ) are not eligible ].
  • All candidates, who have passed final MBBS examination and completed / completing one year internship training by 31st March, 2017 from a recognized medical college included in the Schedule of the Indian Medical Council act, 1956 and situated in Maharashtra are eligible. The Medical College should have been affiliated to Non – Agricultural Universities established under Maharashtra Universities act, 1994 or the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences act, 1998 or Medical College affiliated to Deemed university as per University Grant commission act of 1956 under section 13 / A, situated in Maharashtra. The candidate should have obtained registration either from the Medical Council of India or Maharashtra Medical Council ( MMC ) will be eligible to appear for PGM CET 2017. Candidates who have pass MBBS examination from foreign University are not eligible for Maharashtra PGM CET 2017.
  • The MCI / MMC registration is mandatory for appearing at MH PGM CET 2017. Registration Certificate should be produced at the time of Document Verification process.
  • Candidates, who were admitted to the colleges / institutions which are now affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik ( MUHS ) will be eligible till such time as they are awarded the degree by the University established under Maharashtra Universities act, 1994.
  • The candidates who are domiciled in Maharashtra and who have obtained admission under 15% quota for All India Pre Medical Test Entrance Examination ( AIPMT ) for MBBS course in the medical college / institution situated outside Maharashtra State and who have obtained the degree from a University situated outside the State of Maharashtra will also be eligible for MH PGM CET 2017.

In – Service Candidates Eligibility :

  • Eligibility for In – service candidates will be as per criteria laid down by the Public Health Department for M.M. and HS Medical Officer candidates and by commissioner of ESIS for ESIS in – service candidates. For BMC In – Service Candidate eligibility criteria will be as per criteria let down by Municipal Commissioner / Director of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
  • The selection and admission is subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria as prescribed by concerned establishments i.e. Director of Heath service, Commissioner of ESIS, Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and Director of Medical Education & Research. Competent Authority shall not be responsible if such in-service candidates are refused for admission on account of non eligibility of candidates
  • For In – service Candidates the cost of the Information Brochure along with Computerized Scanable Application Form of PGM CET 2017 and the examination fee is Rupee 3000/- to be paid by a Demand Draft / Pay Order drawn on any nationalized / scheduled commercial bank in favour of the “Director, Medical Education & Research, Mumbai” payable at Mumbai. This amount is not refundable.

Non – Eligibility of Candidate :

The following candidates are not eligible for applying / appearing at PGMCET 2017 as the case may be the following :

  1. Candidates who have passed Final MBBS exam from institute located outside Maharashtra, except candidates who are Domicile of Maharashtra and selected under 15% All India quota.
  2. Candidates who have passed final MBBS examination from foreign university are not eligible.
  3. Candidates who are not completing internship on or before 31st March, 2017.

MH PGD CET 2017 Entrance Exam

Maharashtra Entrance Examination for admission to Dental Postgraduate Courses ( MDS ) Course for the academic year 2017 – 2018.

Maharashtra PGD CET 2017 Eligibility

  • Candidate must be an Indian National. Candidate obtained BDS Degree before introduction of one year compulsory rotating internship training, i.e. on or before 1989 will also be eligible to appear for Maharashtra PGD CET 2017.
  • The MCI / MMC and DCI / MSDC registration is mandatory for appearing at PGM / PGD – CET. Registration Certificate should be produced at the time of Document Verification process.
  • Candidates, who were admitted to the colleges / institutions which are now affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik (MUHS) will be eligible till such time as they are awarded the degree by the University established under Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994.
  • A candidate who has completed one year compulsory rotating internship or is likely to complete the same on or before 31st March, 2017 can appear for Maharashtra PGD CET 2017.
  • The candidates who were admitted to the colleges / institutions which are now affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences ( MUHS ) will be eligible till such time as they are awarded the degrees by the University established under Maharashtra Universities act, 1994.
  • Candidates who have passed postgraduate diploma course will be eligible for PGM/PGD-CET for admission to postgraduate degree registration in the same subject only.
  • For In-Service Candidates of PGM-CET :- Eligibility for In-service candidates will be as per criteria laid down by the Public Health Department for M.M.& H.S. Medical Officer candidates and by commissioner of E.S.I.S. for E.S.I.S in-service candidates. For BMC In-Service Candidate eligibility criteria will be as per criteria laid down by Municipal Commissioner/Director of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
  • In-Service candidate will also be covered by relevant general eligibility criteria’s.

Non – Eligibility of Candidate : The following candidates are not eligible for applying / appearing at Maharashtra PGDCET 2017 as the case may be the following Details :

  • The Competent Authority shall issue Notification regarding online / Computerized Scanable process. The information Brochure containing procedures for admission to postgraduate courses will be made available on website of DMER www.dmer.org. An applicant seeking admission to the Maharashtra PGM CET 2017 will be required to submit single prescribed online MH PGM application form ( Excepts In – service Candidates ).
  • The cost of the Maharashtra PGM CET 2017 online application form & examination fee is Rupee 3000/- .This amount is not refundable.
  • MH PGM CET 2017 will be conducted at Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad and Nagpur centres. Candidate can choose the centre for examination as per his choice and indicate the same in MH PGM online application form / Scanable Application form for In – Service Candidaets. Such choice once exercised will be final and binding.
  • The information Brochure and MH PGM CET 2017 Online Application Form will be available on DMER website www.dmer.org from 27th January, 2017 to 10th February, 2017

  • The Maharashtra PGM CET 2017 Admit Cards will be downloaded from www.dmer.org website after login during February, 2017
  • Candidate has to go to Centre with downloaded Admit Card and any Photo ID proof ( Aadhar Card, Driving licence, PAN Card, Pass port ).
  • Issue of Admit Card is merely an enabling document for appearing at the MH PGM CET and does not imply that the candidate satisfies all the requirements of eligibility conditions of admission.

Conduct of Maharashtra PGM CET 2017 Entrance Examination 

  1. All eligible candidates are required to take the MH PGM CET at their own cost.
  2. The MH PGM CET 2017 will be conducted on February, 2017. Time : 10:00 AM. to 1:30 PM No entry will be permitted to the candidate in the examination hall after 10:00 AM for any reason whatsoever.
  3. The MH PGM CET will be conducted at sub centeres situated in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Aurangabad Centers.
  4. The Maharashtra Entrance Examination 2017 will be conducted in English Medium.
  5. PGM CET paper will be of 3 ½ hours duration containing 300 multiple choice questions ( MCQs ). Each question will be of single best response objective type with four answer options. Each correct response shall be awarded one mark. There shall be No Negative Marking for wrong answers.

PG Medical Seats From Government / Corporation Medical Colleges

  • The seats available for admission to medical postgraduate courses will be distributed as 50% to all India Quota & remaining 50 % to the State Quota. From the State quota 25% PG Degree & 25% Diploma Seats from Government Medical Colleges will be distributed to the In-Service Candidates of Public Health Department and ESIS Department as per GR. No. MED 1013/CR 137/13/Edu-2 dated 6 Jan, 2015.
  • Available State quota seats ( after excluding All India Quota & In- service quota ) will be distributed in accordance to constitutional reservation policy of state.
  • The specified reservation under Persons With Disability ( PWD ) category shall be filled. In-Service seats distribution for In-service BMC Candidates will be as per the policy of BMC and these seats will be exclusively from the BMC Medical Colleges.

PG Medical Seats From Private unaided Medical Colleges and Minority Institutions 

  • The seats available for admission to Post graduate Medical Courses shall be as stipulated by the appropriate authority and declared by Government from time to time.
  • The institute wise availability of the seats will be as per Postgraduate Regulation of Medical Council of India ( MCI ) and MUHS, Nashik.

State Merit List

  • The Competent Authority will prepare a State Merit List of eligible candidates on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidate at the PGM – CET 2017.
  • For In-Service Candidates, of Medical the Competent Authority will prepare a State Merit List separately indicating State Merit List number, name, marks scored, category, category merit number, of the candidate. The same will be made available to the respective Authorities / Establishments ( DHS, ESIS, BMC & DMER ), and also available on the Website of www.dmer.org
  • To be eligible for selection to Medical Postgraduate courses a candidate belonging to General category must secure not less than 50% Marks and candidate belonging to Constitutional Reservation category & Constitutional Reservation category with Persons with disability ( PWD ) claim must secure not less than 40% Marks at PGM – CET 2017. Persons with Disability ( PWD ) from General category must secure not less than 45% Marks at PGM – CET 2017.

Tie-breaker for PGM-CET

  1. Determination of the Inter-se-merit of candidates obtaining equal PGM – CET marks. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the PGM CET – 2017, the inter – se – merit of such candidates will be determined in the order of preference as under:
  2. The candidate with higher aggregate marks ( converted into percentage ) at First, Second and Third M.B.B.S. Examination ( Part-I & II ) taken together shall be preferred. If the tie still persists,
  3. The candidate with higher aggregate marks ( converted into percentage ) at Third M.B.B.S. Examination ( Part-I & II ) will be preferred. If the tie still persists,
  4. The candidate with higher aggregate marks ( converted into percentage ) at Second M.B.B.S. Examination will be preferred. If the tie still persists,
  5. An older candidate will be preferred over a younger candidate.
  6. While considering I, II, III MBBS marks and aggregate for above purpose, grace marks and/or NSS marks will not be taken into account.

PG Dental Seats From Government / Corporation Dental Colleges
