Maharashtra Entrance Examination for admission to Medical Postgraduate Courses ( MD / MS / Diploma ) Courses for the academic year 2014 – 2015.

Maharashtra PGM CET 2014 Eligibility

  • Candidate must be an Indian National. Nationality Certificate issued by District Magistrate or Additional District Magistrate or Chief Metropolitan Magistrate or valid passport or School Leaving ( SSC ) / Jr. College Leaving Certificate of HSC / 12th Std. indicating the nationality of the candidate as “Indian” shall constitute the proof of nationality. [ Persons of Indian Origin ( PIO ) / Non Resident Indians ( NRI ) / Overseas Citizen of India ( OCI ) are not eligible ].
  • All candidates, who have passed final MBBS examination and completed / completing one year internship training by 31st March, 2014 from a recognized medical college included in the Schedule of the Indian Medical Council act, 1956 and situated in Maharashtra are eligible. The Medical College should have been affiliated to Non – Agricultural Universities established under Maharashtra Universities act, 1994 or the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences act, 1998 or Medical College affiliated to Deemed university as per University Grant commission act of 1956 under section 13 / A, situated in Maharashtra. The candidate should have obtained registration either from the Medical Council of India or Maharashtra Medical Council ( MMC ) will be eligible to appear for PGM CET 2014. Candidates who have pass MBBS examination from foreign University are not eligible for Maharashtra PGM CET 2014.
  • The MCI / MMC registration is mandatory for appearing at MH PGM CET 2014. Registration Certificate should be produced at the time of Document Verification process.
  • Candidates, who were admitted to the colleges / institutions which are now affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik ( MUHS ) will be eligible till such time as they are awarded the degree by the University established under Maharashtra Universities act, 1994.
  • The candidates who are domiciled in Maharashtra and who have obtained admission under 15% quota for All India Pre Medical Test Entrance Examination ( AIPMT ) for MBBS course in the medical college / institution situated outside Maharashtra State and who have obtained the degree from a University situated outside the State of Maharashtra will also be eligible for MH PGM CET 2014.

In – Service Candidates Eligibility :

  • Eligibility for In – service candidates will be as per criteria laid down by the Public Health Department for M.M. and HS Medical Officer candidates and by commissioner of ESIS for ESIS in – service candidates. For BMC In – Service Candidate eligibility criteria will be as per criteria let down by Municipal Commissioner / Director of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
  • Maharashtra PGM application forms of the DHS in – service candidates shall be received by the Deputy Director of Health Services of the respective circles. The applications will be scrutinized by them and shall be submitted with remarks to the office of Directorate of Health Services, Mumbai. The forms of eligible candidates should then be submitted to the Competent Authority. For BMC candidates, the forms of eligible candidates should be submitted to the Competent Authority by the concerned office of BMC; and for ESIS candidates by the office of the Commissioner, ESIS, Mumbai.
  • For In – service Candidates the cost of the Information Brochure along with Computerized Scanable Application Form of PGM – CET 2014 and the examination fee is Rupee 2500/- to be paid by a Demand Draft / Pay Order drawn on any nationalized / scheduled commercial bank in favour of the “Director, Medical Education & Research, Mumbai” payable at Mumbai. This amount is not refundable.

Such candidates should submit the following Details :

i. Certificate from the Dean of respective medical college stating that the candidate was admitted under 15% All India quota for MBBS course, and

ii. Candidate’s Domicile certificate of Maharashtra State by virtue of residence.

  • The candidate belonging to Backward Class must have claimed so in his online / Computerized scanbale application form, failing which such original application form, failing which such a claim will not be entertained subsequently. The candidate belonging to Backward Class Category should produce the Caste Certificate, Caste Validity Certificate and Non – Creamy Layer Certificate ( wherever applicable ) at the time of Document Verification process.
  • A Candidate belonging to ‘Creamy Layer’ amongst the categories ( VJ ) DT – A, ( NT – 1 ) NT – B, ( NT – 2 ) NT – C, ( NT – 3 ) NT – D, OBC and SBC must note that the provision of reservation is not applicable to him / her. A candidate claiming benefit of reservation under these categories will be required to produce Non – Creamy Layer Certificate as specified in the Government Resolution No.CBC – 10/2008/CR-697 VJNT – 1, dated 24th June, 2013. The certificate in prescribed Proforma stating that it is valid upto 31st March, 2014, should be submitted at the time of Document Verification process.
  • The candidate admitted for MBBS Course in reserve category on the basis of Court order for Caste claim is required to submit Caste Validity Certificate given by the Caste Scrutiny Committee. If the matter is still pending with Hon’ble Court, candidate should submit a fresh Court order for Maharashtra PGM CET 2014, failing which the claim will not be granted and the candidate will be considered as Open category candidate.
  • Candidates who have passed postgraduate diploma course will be eligible for MH PGM CET for admission to postgraduate degree registration in the same subject only.
  • The candidates who were eligible to appear for PGM CET 2012 and earlier PGM CETS irrespective of whether they appeared or not it will be considered as attempt. The Candidates thus completing two or more attempts must have completed 1 year’s bond service as per Government Letter No.PGM-1010/ CR-353/10 Edu-2/MEDD dated 28th September, 2011 & Government Notification Letter No. DMER/PGM CET/ELIGIBLITY/2013/CRTERIA/2-A, dated 1st November, 2011. However, any candidates who has qualified in PGM CET 2014, and has not done 1 year bond service, can take the admission through PGM CET 2014, after breaking the bond by paying necessary bond penalty amount to the college where he / she has done MBBS course. Such candidates need to produce bond release certificate issued by Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Mumbai at the time of Document Verification process. The candidate, who has completed internship on or before 31st March 2012, must produce either bond release certificate or receipt of penalty amount paid for the bond service. Candidates who are declared eligible as per rule of PGM CET 2014 can only fill online Preference Form for Maharashtra PGM CET 2014. Login for online Preference Form filling Process for not eligible candidate declared after document verification will not be available. Candidate will be allowed to appear for PGM CET only twice – first time for the examination conducted before the date of internship completion and second time for the examination conducted immediately after the completion of mandatory internship period. While counting the attempts whether the candidates actually appeared for the examination or not, will not be taken into consideration.
  • Candidate will be eligible to appear for PGM CET 2015, if he / she cancels his / her admission of PGM CET 2014 before prescribed date.

Non – Eligibility of Candidate :

The following candidates are not eligible for applying / appearing at PGMCET 2014 as the case may be the following :

  1. Candidates who have passed Final MBBS exam from institute located outside Maharashtra, except candidates who are Domicile of Maharashtra and selected under 15% All India quota.
  2. Candidates who have passed final MBBS examination from foreign
    university are not eligible.
  3. Candidates who are not completing internship on or before 31st March, 2014.
  4. Candidates who have not obtained MMC / MCI registration.
  5. Candidates who had been admitted to PG course through NEET PGM 2013 and resigned / left /not joined which resulted in lapse of a seat.
  6. Candidates who are previously registered and are pursuing / have completed the PG degree course or have obtained PG degree.
  7. Candidates who are registered for PG diploma and have not passed the course.

Maharashtra PGD CET 2014 Eligibility

  • Candidate must be an Indian National.   • All candidates, who have passed final BDS Examination and Completed / Completing One year internship training by 31st March, 2014 from recognized dental college included in the schedule of the Dental Council of India and situated in Maharashtra, affiliated to the Non – agricultural University established under Maharashtra Universities act, 1994 or the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences act 1998 or Dental Colleges affiliated to Deemed University as per University Grant Commission act 1956 under section 13 / A, situated in Maharashtra, and who have obtained registration either from the Dental Council of India or Maharashtra State Dental Council ( MSDC ) after completing one year compulsory rotating internship will be eligible to appear for PGD CET 2014. Candidate obtained BDS Degree before introduction of one year compulsory rotating internship training, i.e. on or before 1989 will also be eligible to appear for Maharashtra PGD CET 2014.
  • A candidate should have obtained MSDC / DCI registration by the date of preference form filling process. ( Except for a candidate who will be completing Internship by 31st March, 2014, such a candidate must submit the aforesaid certificate by the beginning of academic term ( i.e. second May, 2014 ) to the college authority ).
  • A candidate who has completed one year compulsory rotating internship or is likely to complete the same on or before 31st March, 2014 can appear for Maharashtra PGD CET 2014.
  • The candidates who were admitted to the colleges / institutions which are now affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences ( MUHS ) will be eligible till such time as they are awarded the degrees by the University established under Maharashtra Universities act, 1994.
  • However, the candidate who are domiciled in Maharashtra and who obtained admission under 15% quota from All India Entrance Examination ( AIEE ) for BDS Course in a dental college / institution situated out – side Maharashtra State and who has obtained the degree from a University situated outside the State of Maharashtra will also be eligible for Maharashtra PGD CET 2014.

Such candidate should submit the following details :

i. Certificate from the Dean of respective college stating that the candidate was admitted under 15% AIEE quota for BDS Course.

ii. Certificate of domicile in State of Maharashtra by virtue of residence.
