MH SSET Entrance Exam 2017

Government of Maharashtra has been conducting Superspeciality Entrance Examination – MH SSET 2017 since 1990. The merit list of this entrance examination NEET UG 2017 will be utilized for selection of candidates for admission to all DM & MCh Superspeciality Courses at the Medical colleges / Institutions in the state of Maharashtra in the academic year 2017 – 2018.

MH SSET Entrance Exam 2017

NEET-SS is the single window entrance examination for all Super Specialty DM / MCh courses in the country. No other entrance examination, either at state or Institution level, shall be valid for entry to DM / MCh Courses as per the Indian Medical Council ( Amendment ) Act, 2016 w.e.f. 2017 admission session.

Qualifying NEET-SS is mandatory for gaining entry to DM / M. Ch. Courses under various Universities / Institutions in the country.

Scope of NEET – SS

NEET – SS 2017 shall be the single eligibility cum entrance examination for admission to Super Specialty courses’ for the academic session 2017 which will include the following :

  • All DM / MCh Courses in the country including all Private Medical Colleges / Institutions / Universities / Deemed Universities.
  • All DM / MCh courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions

MH SSET Eligibility 2017

Candidates who are in possession of recognized post graduate medical degree ( MD / MS / DNB ) / Provisional Pass Certificate or an equivalent recognized qualification or likely to be in possession by 15th July, 2017 in accordance with eligibility qualifications for super specialty courses can apply for NEET – SS 2017.

Candidates found to be ineligible at any stage of NEET – SS will not be permitted to appear in the examination. In an unlikely event of any ineligible candidate appearing and / or being successful in NEET – SS, the results / candidature of such candidate shall be cancelled and / or are deemed to be cancelled.

Requests for appearing in NEET – SS 2017 from candidates who are qualifying and getting the results of their MD / MS / DNB qualifications after 15th July, 2017 shall be summarily rejected.

Candidates who are qualifying and getting the results of their MD / MS / DNB qualifications after 15th July, 2017 or likely to qualify after 15th July, 2017 need not apply in NEET – SS 2017 as they shall be ineligible to participate at any stage of the admission process.

Registration and / or appearance in NEET-SS does not confer any automatic rights upon the candidate for admission to DM / MCh courses.

Registration with M.C.I. / State Medical Council / is necessary and its documentary proof should be furnished at the time of counseling.

MH SSET Exam Pattern 2017

Allocation of time for NEET – SS 2017 on 10th & 11th June, 2017 shall be as follows :

NEET-SS shall be conducted in all specialties for which the corresponding MD / MS / DNB degree is eligible for pursuing Super specialty DM / MCh courses in the country.

NEET-SS 2017 shall be conducted in the following specialties :

  • General Medicine
  • General Surgery
  • Microbiology
  • Obstetrics & Gynaecology
  • Orthopedics
  • Otorhinolaryngology ( ENT )
  • Paediatrics
  • Pathology

  • Psychiatry
  • Radiodiagnosis
  • Radiotherapy
  • Respiratory Medicine

Test for General Medicine & Paediatrics specialty shall be conducted on 10th June, 2017. The test for rest of the specialties shall be conducted on 11th June, 2017.

The question paper shall consist of 200 MCQs with single correct response. There will be a separate question paper for all the above mentioned specialties. For example, a candidate with MS / DNB ( General Surgery ) will take the test in General Surgery specialty and a candidate with MD / DNB ( Paediatrics ) will take the test in Paediatrics specialty, irrespective of their desirous DM / MCh course(s).

The level of examination will be of PG exit level in the concerned specialty as per the latest curriculum notified / adopted by Medical Council of India in the concerned MD / MS qualification.

The duration of the test shall be 2½ hours. There shall be 25% negative marking for incorrect answers. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.

A candidate can appear for only one specialty.

Eligibility for DM/MCh disciplines shall be as per the regulations notified by Medical Council of India with prior approval of Government of India as per Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

N.B. : For candidates interested in Medical Genetics but their PG qualification specialties are not included in the above list must apply in the specialty of General Medicine OR any specialty of their choice from the specialties mentioned in the list above.

For MCh Head & Neck Surgery Course, eligible candidates will appear in either ENT or General Surgery. Interested candidates with MCh / DNB in Neurosurgery, Surgical Oncology and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery shall appear in General Surgery paper.

MH SSET Application Form 2017

The online registration and scheduling process for NEET – SS 2017 for admission to DM /MCh courses for 2017 academic session is available at NEET-SS website www.nbe.edu.in. Candidates are advised to carefully go through the registration & Scheduling guide available on the website before starting the online registration &
Scheduling.

Candidate may note that there is no option for submitting the form other than the online mode, offline applications or printed copies will not be accepted.

Candidates are advised to go through the instructions given and overview of the application before proceeding to fill up the online application.

Online Applications for admission to the examination should be completed by the prescribed cutoff date. At the end of Registration and Scheduling process the applicant will get a computer generated acknowledgement, this acknowledgment shall also be sent at the registered e-mail ID of the applicant. A print out of this acknowledgment constitutes the ADMIT CARD-CUMCONFIRMATION SLIP. All fields marked * in the online registration form are mandatory.

Applications of candidates producing false or fabricated information will not be considered and candidates may be further debarred from appearing in any future examinations.

Candidates must preserve a hard copy of application form for future reference.

Note :

Candidate should make sure all information entered during the online registration process is correct.

Online information provided by candidates like name of candidate, contact / address details, category, PWD status, educational qualification details, date of birth, domicile etc during online registration and scheduling process for NEET – SS 2017 will be treated as correct and NBE will not entertain, under any circumstances,
any request for change in information provided by the candidates after the registration window i.e. 13th May, 2017.

NBE does not edit / modify / alter any information entered by the candidates at the time of online registration or thereafter under any circumstances. Candidates have the opportunity to make any correction in the information provided by them during online registration till the end of Registration Window i.e. 13th May, 2017. Any request for change in information thereafter will not be entertained and candidate(s) will have to approach the concerned counseling authority for the same.

MH SSET Admit Card 2017

Admit card will be issued to candidate once registration and scheduling process is successfully complete. Candidate is required to print a copy of Admit card and affix a latest passport size photograph of the following specifications on this admit card.

MH SSET Selection Procedure 2017

Basis of Selection :

Marks obtained by the candidate at the NEET SS will form the basis of selection.

Tie – Breakers :

In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal score, the candidate with more number of correct answers shall be placed higher in the merit position.

In case the tie could not be resolved based using the above criteria, the age of the candidates shall be taken into consideration, older will get preference over the younger ( i.e. older candidate will be placed at higher position ).
