NEET Entrance Exam 2018

Central Board of  Secondary Education conduct  National Eligibility – cum – Entrance Test  ( NEET ) invites admission Application for MBBS / BDS  programs for the academic session 2018 – 2019.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 

As per regulations framed under the Indian Medical Council Act-1956 as amended in 2016 and the Dentists Act-1948 as amended in 2016, NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST ( UG )  NEET UG 2018 ) will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE ), for   admission to MBBS / BDS Courses in India in Medical / Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament i.e. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry. Following is stated in the regulations :

  • There shall be a single eligibility cum entrance examination namely ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to MBBS / BDS courses’ in each academic year.
  • In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS / BDS Courses for a particular academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum marks in ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test’ held for the said academic year besides obtaining minimum prescribed marks at the qualifying examination.
  • The reservation of seats in Medical / Dental colleges for respective categories shall be as per applicable laws prevailing in States / Union Territories. An all India merit list of the eligible candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission in MBBS / BDS courses from the said lists only.
  • No candidate who has failed to obtain the minimum eligibility marks as prescribed by the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India shall be admitted to MBBS / BDS Courses in the said academic year.
  • All admissions to MBBS / BDS courses within the respective categories shall be based solely on marks obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test.
  • The Central Board of Secondary Education shall be the organization to conduct National Eligibility-cum- Entrance Test for admission to MBBS / BDS courses.

NEET Entrance Exam Eligibility 2018

Eligibility to appear in NEET UG :

  • He / she has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his / her admission to the 1styear MBBS / BDS Course.
  • The upper age limit for NEET is 25 years as on the date of examination with relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to OBC / SC / ST category. (As per letter no. U.12023/16/2010- ME-II dated 17.01.2017 received from MoH&FW)
  • The Age criteria for appearing in NEET( UG ), 2018 is as follows :
    • 8th May, 1987 to 1st January, 2001 ( SC / ST / OBC Category )
    • 8th May, 1992 to 1st January, 2001 ( Other Category )
  • The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at NEET UG examination shall be limited to 3 (three) uniformly to all the candidates. The candidates who have already appeared in AIPMT / NEET on three occasions are not allowed to take this examination. The candidates will be required to give an undertaking in this regard and submitting false undertaking may result in cancellation of the candidature
  • and action in accordance with norms for handling UFM cases. ( As per letter no. U.12023 / 16 / 2010- ME-II dated 17th January, 2018 received from MoH&FW )
  • The previous attempts in AIPMT / NEET will be counted against these 3 permissible attempts. The candidates who have already exhausted their allowed 3 attempts are not eligible to apply for NEET  (UG ), 2018.
  • Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians ( NRIs ), Oversees Citizen of India ( OCIs ), Persons of Indian Origin ( PIOs ) & Foreign Nationals are eligible to appear in NEET ( UG ) 2018. ( As per letter no. U.12023 / 16 / 2010- ME-II dated 13th January, 2016 received from MoH&FW )

Eligibility for 15% All India Quota Seats :

  • Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians ( NRIs ), Oversees Citizen of India ( OCIs ), Persons of Indian Origin ( PIOs ) & Foreign Nationals are eligible for 15% All India Quota Seats.
  • Candidates from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and J & K ( i ) Students from the States of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and J & K are NOT ELIGIBLE for 15% all India quota seats as these States had opted out of All India Scheme since its inception. If they claim eligibility, they must submit online Self Declaration which will be generated and printed automatically along with confirmation page for the record and to present during counselling.
  • The online Self Declaration of the candidates will be verified at the time of counselling and if found to be false at any time, the candidature / admission of such candidates shall be cancelled and criminal proceedings may be initiated against them.
  • Candidates from the States of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and J & K can appear in NEET ( UG ) for admission to Private Medical / Dental Colleges or any Private / Deemed University and Armed Forces Medical College ( AFMC ), Pune subject to the fulfilment of eligibility conditions.

Eligibility for seats under the control of States / Universities / Institutions / AFMC :

  • Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians ( NRIs ), Oversees Citizen of India ( OCIs ), Persons of Indian Origin ( PIOs ) & Foreign Nationals are eligible for admission in Medical / Dental Colleges subject to rules and regulations framed by the respective State Governments, Institution and the Government of India.
  •  Foreign nationals may confirm their eligibility from the concerned Medical / Dentals college / state.

Qualifications and Qualifying Examination Codes :

Code : 01

A candidate who is appearing in the qualifying examination, i.e., 12th Standard in 2018 whose result is awaited, may apply and take up the said test but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the MBBS or BDS, if he / she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks at the time of first round of Counselling.OR

Code : 02

The Higher / Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher/ Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio – technology ( which shall include practical tests in these subjects ) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.

Note : where the course content is not as prescribed for 10+2 education structure of the National Committee, the candidates will have to undergo a period of one year pre – professional training before admission to the Medical Colleges. OR

Code : 03

The Intermediate / Pre – degree Examination in Science of an Indian University / Board or other recognised examining body with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio – technology ( which shall include practical test in these subjects ) and also English as a compulsory subject. OR

Code : 04

The Pre – professional / Pre – medical Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio – technology & English after passing either the Higher Secondary Examination or the Pre – University or an equivalent examination. The Pre – professional / Pre – medical examination shall include practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject. OR

Code : 05

The first year of the three years’ degree course of a recognised University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Bio – technology including practical tests in these subjects provided the examination is a University Examination and candidate has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio – technology with English at a level not less than a core course. OR

Code : 06

B.Sc. Examination of an Indian University provided that he / she has passed the B.Sc. Examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology ( Botany, Zoology ) / Bio – technology and further that he / she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. OR

Code : 07

Any other examination which in scope and standard ( Last 2 years of 10+2 Study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Bio – technology; Which shall include practical test in these subjects ) is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University / Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Bio – technology including practical tests in each of these subjects and English.

Provided that to be eligible for competitive entrance examination, candidate must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as enumerated above or appearing in the qualifying examination in 2018. Provided also that to be eligible for competitive Entrance Test the candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying examination as mentioned in clause (2) of regulation 4 on Graduate Medical Education 1997 and in addition must have come in the merit list of National Eligibility Entrance Test ( NEET  2 ) – 2018 for admission to MBBS / BDS courses.

In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Bio – technology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 40% marks instead of 50% marks for General Candidates. Further, for persons with locomotor disability of lower limbs, minimum of 45% marks for Gen – PH and 40% marks for SC – PH / ST – PH / OBC – PH are required.

Provided further that the students educated abroad seeking admission into medical colleges in India must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio – technology and English up to the 12th standard level with 50% marks and their equivalency determined as per regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University. If a candidate does not fall within the qualifications prescribed as per Code number 01-07 he / she should furnish complete details to determine eligibility.

Note :

  • The Pre – medical course may be conducted either at a Medical College or at a Science College.
  • Marks obtained in Mathematics are not to be considered for admission to MBBS / BDS Courses.
  • The candidates who have studied from the Foreign/International Board may ensure that the qualifying examination passed by them should, in scope and standard, be as explained in.

NEET Entrance Exam Pattern 2018

(a) Pattern of the Entrance Test :

  • The Entrance Test shall consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions ( four options with single correct answer ) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology ( Botany & Zoology ) to be answered on the specially designed machine – gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen provided by CBSE at centre only.
  • The duration of test would be 3 hours.

(b) Language of the Question Papers :

  • Candidates can opt for Question Paper in either of the following languages (As per letter nos. V.11025 / 35 / 2012-MEP ( Pt. ) dated 8th December, 2017  & 16th January, 2018 received from MoH&FW )

  • Option of medium of Question Paper should be exercised while filling in the application form and the option once exercised by candidates cannot be changed later.
  • Candidates opting for English would be provided Test Booklet in English only.
  • Candidates opting for Hindi would be provided Bilingual Test Booklet i.e. in Hindi and in English.
  • Candidates opting for vernacular languages would be provided Bilingual Test Booklet i.e. in selected language and in English.
  • In case of any ambiguity in translation of any of the questions, its English version shall be treated as final.

NEET Entrance Exam Seats 2018

An All India merit list of the qualified candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the National Eligibility Entrance Test and candidates shall be admitted to MBBS / BDS courses from the said list only by following the already existing reservation policy.

CBSE will provide All India Rank. Admitting Authorities will invite applications for counselling and merit list shall be drawn based on All India Rank. Admission to MBBS / BDS Courses within the respective categories shall be based solely on marks obtained in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test.

(a) Reservation of Seats in Government Medical Colleges under 15% All India Quota :

  • 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates,
  • 7.5% seats are reserved for ST candidates,
  • 27% seats as per Central Act are reserved for non – creamy layer OBC candidates only in Central Educational Institutions. Reservation would be applicable to the castes mentioned in the Central list of OBC. Thus, the candidates falling in this list may mention OBC in the Category Column in application form. Candidates from creamy layer and those who do not come under Central List of OBC are advised to mention their category as Unreserved ( UR ).
  • Differently abled candidates as per MCI guidelines are :
    • PH – 1 : Candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs from 50% to 70%
    • PH – 2 : Candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs from 40% to less than 50%
  • 3% seats are reserved on horizontal basis for Physically Handicapped candidates ( only for locomotor disabilities of lower limbs between 50% to 70%, provided that in case any seat in this 3% quota remains unfilled on account of unavailability of candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs between 50% to 70% then any such unfilled seat in this 3% quota shall be filled up by persons with locomotor disability of lower limbs between 40% to 50% before they are included in the seats of respective category, as per Certificate of Locomotor Disability) in 15% All India UG quota seat.
  • Detailed information in this regard is available on the website of Medical Counselling Committee – www.mcc.nic.in and on website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare – www.mohfw.nic.in Candidates who considered themselves eligible for this category are advised to ensure their eligibility by getting themselves examined at any Government Medical College / District Hospital / Government Hospital.
  • However, candidates may kindly note that in case of selection under PH category, they will be required to produce Disability Certificate from one of the disability assessment boards, constituted at the four metro cities, mentioned below, before their scheduled date of counselling :

  • Reservation will be made as per 2200 point reservation roster. The mode of implementation of reservation will be available on DGHS website-www.mohfw.nic.in.

(b) Admission in State Medical Colleges / Universities / Institutions / AFMC / Private Medical Colleges for Seats other than 15% All India Quota : 

  • Admission under State Quota Seats shall be subject to reservation policy and eligibility criteria prevailing in the State / Union Territory as notified by the respective State / Union Territory from time to time.
  • The reservation of the seats in medical colleges for respective categories shall be as per applicable laws prevailing in State / Union Territory concerned.
  • Admission to MBBS / BDS Courses in Private Medical Colleges shall be subject to policies of the State / Union Territory.
  • Admission to AFMC, Pune shall be subject to the norms prescribed by the Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Candidates who apply for NEET 2018 and also seeking admission in AFMC will also have to apply to AFMC on www.afmc.nic.in / www.afmcdg1d.gov.in. The short listed candidates will be required to appear for a second stage Screening Test conducted by AFMC. Candidates are advised to contact AFMC for further details.

NEET Application Form 2018

A candidate can apply for the NEET  only on-line by logging on to www.aipmt.nic.in.

Before submission of application form, make the following preparations :

The information desired to be filled in the online application such as name of Father / Mother and candidate with correct spellings as per Class X Certificate, date of birth, address, mobile number, e-mail ID, etc. may be kept ready. For more details about the information to be filled in, candidates may go to link “Replica of application – 2018” on the website.

Candidate should have scanned images of his latest Photograph ( size of 10 Kb to 100 Kb ), Signature ( size of 3 Kb to 20 Kb ) and Right Hand Index Finger ( size of 3 Kb to 20 Kb ) in JPG format only, for uploading as part of submission of online application.

The candidates have to provide the Aadhaar / Identity details as given below :

  • Decide the mode of payment of fee,
    • Through any Debit / Credit Card using on-line gateway payment facility or
    • Net Banking / UPI
    • e-wallet of various service providers
  • If decided to pay fee through Debit / Credit Card, check the validity of the Card and keep it ready while logging on to website for submitting application form.
  • If decided to pay fee through Net Banking / UPI, follow the instructions as communicated during the online processing.
  • If decided to pay the fee through e-wallet, follow the instructions as communicated during the online processing.
  • Keep the statement of bank / Net Banking transaction receipt / e-wallet receipt bearing Application Registration Number for future reference.
  • Print the Confirmation Page ( Step-4 ) of online application after submission Step-3 in case of debit / credit card /  Net Banking / UPI / e-wallet.
  • Failure to complete Step – 2 of  Online Application and further payment of fee as per Step – 3, final Submission of Online Application will remain incomplete and unsuccessful in all modes of payment of fee.
  • Generation of confirmation page confirms the correctness and final submission of application form. If confirmation page has not been generated, this means that application has not submitted successfully.

Note :

  • In addition to examination fee, service / processing charges will also be paid by the candidate for online payment of fee through Debit / Credit Card / e – challan / Net Banking / e – wallet ( CSC ) along with Service Tax as applicable by the respective banks.   • The candidates must note that after submission of the application form it cannot be withdrawn. Claims for refund of application fee will not be entertained.
  • The candidates must also note that no representation from the candidates regarding double payment of fee or any other issue related to fee will be entertained after 30 days from the last date of the submission of online application.

NEET 2018 Method of Submission of Application Form

  • Log on to website www.cbseneet.nic.in
  • Download the Information Bulletin and Replica of Application  2018 and read it carefully to understand eligibility criteria and other requirements for submission of application online.
  • Go to the link “Apply On-line” and open the same.
  • Read the instructions and procedure for on-line submission of Application Form carefully. At the end of this page, following four links to apply online are given:
    • Fill in the on-line application form Step-1 and note down the registration number.
    • Upload images of photograph and signature in JPEG format at Step – 2 of the application.
    • Make payment of fee as per available options in Step-3.
    • Take print out of Confirmation page( s ) at Step 4 of online application form and preserve it for future reference along with copy of proof of fee deposited.
  • Open the link “Proceed to apply online NEET ( UG ) 2018”.
  • Follow the instructions and complete the process of submission of application form.
  • Kindly follow the instructions carefully and submit the information. At the end of this page, two links “Next and Preview” and “Reset” are given. If you are satisfied that filled in information is correct then Click “Next and Preview” otherwise “Reset”. After opening “Next”, information submitted can be checked and if information is correct, go for “Submit” otherwise go for “Back”.
  • After this step the Provisional Registration Number of the candidate will be generated and displayed on screen. The Provisional Registration Number will also be sent on the registered E-mail Id and mobile phone of the candidate.
  • At this stage the candidate will be given an option to continue filling-up his application by clicking on the link “Continue” or completing the form “Later”. If “Later” is selected the candidate can log-in in his account at any time before the last date and complete his application form.
  • By Clicking on the “continue” the candidate may submit the required information and complete the step-1 of application form. At any time during this step the candidates may keep on saving the data filled in the application form. At the end of this step the candidates may preview the data filled up by them before finally submitting the form.
  • After submission of data at Step -1, programme will automatically take you to second link for uploading of photograph and signature.
  • After uploading of photograph and signature, programme will automatically take you to step-3 for payment of fee.
  • Follow the instructions and remit the fee. After successful remittance of fee, programme will take you to step-4 to take print out of Confirmation Page.
  • Follow the instructions to take the print out of Confirmation Page. Please keep the confirmation page and proof of payment of fee safely for any future reference.
  • All the four links for online submission of application form, uploading of photograph and signature, payment of fee and to take print out of confirmation page can also be used separately / individually.
  • Facility of submission of application form, uploading of photograph and signature, payment of fee and printing of the Computer Generated Confirmation Page will be de-activated as per given schedule. Hence, candidates are required to complete the process within the prescribed duration only.
  • A copy of the confirmation page and self-declaration / undertaking as the case may be, will be emailed on the registered email id of the candidate for future reference after successful submission.
  • Candidature of the candidates will not be accepted if fee is not paid even after the successful submission of application form and issue of registration number.
  • Candidates are well versed with the technology of online submission of application form and without any help they are capable in submission of application form online. In case, any candidate is having any problem, such candidate may visit any of the Common Services Centres for submission of application form and payment of fee. The common services centres have been setup as per a scheme of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. NEET 2018 Admit Card

The CBSE will provide the facility of downloading Admit Cards of NEET  on the Board’s website along with a format for affixing of Postcard size photograph. Candidates are required to download the admit cards from the website and follow the instructions given therein. Candidate may please note that admit cards will not be sent by the post.When candidate will download the Admit Card, a copy of the same in pdf fomat will also be emailed to the candidate on the registered email id.

The Admit Card will bear the candidate’s Roll Number, Name, Father’s Name, Category, Sub – Category, Photograph, Signature, Date of Birth, Language of Question Paper with Name and Address of examination centre allotted. The candidate should carefully examine the Admit Card downloaded by him / her for all the entries made therein.

NEET MDS Entrance Exam 2018

NEET MDS is an eligibility cum ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination to various post graduate MDS Courses under Dentists Act, 1948.

NEET MDS is a single window entrance examination for Dental PG courses. No other entrance examination, either at state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to MDS Courses as per Dentists Act, 1948.

Scope of NEET MDS 2018

NEET MDS 2018 shall be the single eligibility cum entrance examination namely ‘National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to Postgraduate Dental Courses’ for the academic session 2018 – 2019 which will include the following :

  • All India 50% quota seats for MDS courses ( all states except Andhra Pradesh*, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana* )
  • State quota seats for MDS courses for all States / Union territories of India ( including the states of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana )
  • MDS Diploma courses at all Private Dental Colleges, Institutions & Universities all across the country
  • MDS courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions.

*PG seats of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are likely to be included in 50% All India Quota Seats 2018 subject to confirmation by the respective State Governments to MoHFW, Govt. of India.

The following Dental institution is not covered by centralized admissions for MDS seats through NEET – MDS for 2018 session :

NEET MDS Entrance Exam Eligibility 2018

The eligibility criteria for Admission to MDS courses as per MDS Course Regulations 2017 notified by Dental Council of India with prior approval of MoHFW is as follows :

A candidate for admission to the Master in Dental Surgery course, must possess a recognised degree of Bachelor in Dental Surgery awarded by a university or institute in India and registered with the State Dental Council and has obtained provisional or permanent registration and has undergone compulsory rotatory internship of a year in an approved / recognised dental college.

A candidate who after passing the final qualifying examination ( BDS or the foreign dental degree recognized by GOI / DCI ), is undergoing 12-month compulsory rotatory internship / practical training and is likely to complete the same by 31st March, 2018 can take up this examination, but he / she shall not be eligible for admission unless he/she has completed the compulsory rotatory internship and obtained provisional or permanent registration on or before 31st March, 2018 or the candidate produces a certificate from the head of Institution that he / she will be completing internship by 31st March, 2018.

Eligibility Criteria for All India 50% Quota Seats

Candidates who have studied / passed BDS from the states of Andhra Pradesh*, Telangana* and Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for 50% All India Quota seats. However, the candidates who were nominated by the Government of India ( under central pool seats ) to do BDS from Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana shall be eligible to apply for admission. Such candidates must submit a duly signed affidavit declaring that he / she was nominated by the Government of India ( under central pool seats ) to do BDS from Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir to the following address along with the print out of the acknowledgement of submission of online application for NEET MDS 2018 latest by 30th November, 2017.

Candidates who have done their BDS from Andhra Pradesh / Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir but fail to submit the affidavit as indicated above will not be considered for participation in All India 50% quota counseling. However, the restriction on candidates from the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh and Telengana shall not apply to the categories pertaining to Armed Forces for ‘Grant of Short Service Commission in Army Dental Corps’ and for MDS admissions in Armed Forces Institutes.

* PG seats of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are likely to be included in 50% All India Quota Seats 2018 subject to confirmation by the respective State Governments to MoHFW, Govt. of India.

Eligibility criteria for foreign nationals in NEET MDS 2018

As per MDS course Regulations 2017 : It is not mandatory for foreign nationals to have temporary registration with DCI at the time of writing NEET-MDS. Foreign Nationals can write NEET MDS without DCI registration. Provided that in the case of a foreign national, the following procedure shall be followed : The Council may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the post-graduate training restricted to the dental college / institution to which he or she is admitted for the time being exclusively for post-graduate studies : Provided further that temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subject to the condition that such person is duly registered as medical practitioner in his / her own country from which he / she has obtained his / her basics dental qualification and that his / her degree is recognized by the corresponding state dental council or concerned authority.

The dates indicated by candidates with regard to 12 months Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship i.e. starting date, completion date, shall be treated as final and candidates will be required to submit the original Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship completion certificate at the time of counseling.

The cut off dates for the recognition of the Dental Colleges, from where the candidates have passed, must have a recognised degree of BDS awarded by an Indian University, in respect of recognised Dental College under Section 10(2) of the Dentists Act, 1948 or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Dental Council of India and completed compulsory rotatory Internship for the year 2018 will be 31st October, 2017. The Colleges recognized after this date will not be considered.

Registration with State Dental Councils is necessary and its documentary proof has to be furnished at the time of counseling.

Candidates found to be ineligible at any stage of NEET MDS 2018 will not be permitted to appear in the examination and / or counseling. In an unlikely event of any ineligible candidate appearing and / or being successful in the NEET MDS 2018, the results / candidature of such candidate shall be cancelled and / or are deemed to be cancelled.

Requests for appearing in NEET MDS 2018 from candidates completing internship after 31st March, 2018 or having qualifications that are not recognized as per Dentists Act shall be summarily rejected. Candidates are further advised not to canvass for the same. The cutoff date for completion of internship towards determination of eligibility for appearing in NEET MDS 2018 shall be 31st March, 2018.

Some of the Universities / institutions are having regulations that candidates who are already pursuing the PG Course in their University or in another University are not eligible for admission till they complete the course. The candidates who are already pursuing PG Courses either through All India Quota or State Quota and are applying for a seat under All India Quota may confirm the eligibility conditions of that University
in this regard. NBE / MCC / MoHFW shall not be responsible if such candidates are denied admission. Such candidates may opt for the subject and the college at their own risk and cost.

A candidate can register and appear for NEET MDS 2018 only once for admission to the academic year 2018 – 2019. Candidates submitting multiple application form will not be allowed to appear in NEET MDS.

NEET MDS 2018 shall be held on a single day & single session only.

The examination shall be a multiple choice questions test delivered using computers network ( CBT ) as per scheme prescribed.

The exam comprises of 240 Multiple Choices, single correct response questions in English language only. Time allotted 3 hrs.

Negative Marking : There shall be 25% negative marking for incorrect answers. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.

NEET MDS Application Form 2018

How to Apply

The Application form will be available from the official website of www.nbe.edu.in.

The online registration begins on 31st October, 2017 from 3:00 PM onwards. Online registration and submission of application form must be completed by 27th November, 2017 ( by 11:59 PM ).

Submission of Application Form

The online registration website for NEET – MDS 2018 for admission to MDS courses for 2018 session is available at website www.nbe.edu.in Candidates are advised to carefully go through the registration & scheduling guide available on the website before starting their online registration & scheduling.

Candidate may note that there is no option for submitting the form other than the online mode, offline applications or printed copies will not be accepted.

Candidates are advised to go through the instructions given proceeding to fill up the online application. The last date for submission of online application form is 27th November, 2017 ( 11:59 PM ).

At the end of online submission of application form, the candidate will get a computer generated acknowledgement. This acknowledgment shall also be sent at the registered e-mail ID of the candidate. All fields marked in the online application form are mandatory.

Applications of candidates producing false or fabricated information will not be considered and candidates may be further debarred from appearing in any future examinations.

Candidates must preserve hard copy of application form (confirmation page) till the end of counseling process as details mentioned in acknowledgement form will be required by selected candidates for Registration for online counseling for allotment of PG seat under All India 50% Quota.

  • Rs. 2750/- ( For SC / ST / PWD ( PH ) candidates )
  • Rs. 3750/- ( For General / OBC candidates )

How to pay

The prescribed registration fee should be remitted through payment gateway provided using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by banks in India or through Internet Banking. For more information, candidates are requested to visit www.nbe.edu.in.

Candidates remaining absent from the examination or ineligible will forfeit their examination fee. Candidates are advised to read the rule position carefully and satisfy the terms and conditions for fulfillment of eligibility criteria before proceeding for payment of fees.

Fees shall neither be refunded nor carried forward if the application for NEET MDS is rejected / candidature is found to be ineligible or candidate is unable to appear in the examination.

NEET MDS 2018 Admit Card

The examination shall be conducted on 7th January, 2018. It will be a single day exam conducted in a single session.

At the time of online registration, candidate will be required to choose the city in which he / she wants to take the test. The choice of city will depend on availability of the test centres in a particular city and the allotment shall be done on first come first serve basis.

During the submission of online application form, candidate will be able to see only those cities where testing seats are available. While the city will be chosen by the candidate himself / herself at the time of online submission of application form, allotment of test centre / venue in the chosen city shall be done by NBE.

Candidates will be informed regarding their test venue in the chosen city approximately 4 days before the examination day through their admit card. Requests for change of testing centre / city shall not be entertained.

Candidates must bring to the test centre the following documents : Unfair means case shall be registered against the candidates submitting false/forged documents.

Printed copy of the Admit Card with Photo of the candidate pasted on it.

Photocopy of Permanent or Provisional SDC / DCI registration, to be retained by the test center And

Any one of the authorized photo IDs**( must be original, valid and non-expired )

  • PAN Card
  • Voters’ ID card
  • Driving License
  • Passport
  • Aadhaar card ( with photograph )

In case, any candidate reports to the test center with e-Aadhaar card with Aadhaar number printed on it as proof of identity, the e-Aadhaar card should be a good quality colour print out with clearly visible photograph. The photograph should not have kinks, scratches and stains, and should definitely match with the candidate presenting the e-Aadhaar card. Decision of NBE in this regard shall be final.

The name on the photo identification must match with the name as shown on the Admit Card. If the name has been changed due to events such as marriage, candidate must show the relevant document mentioned at the time of exam ( Marriage Certificate / Divorce Decree / Legal Name Change Document ).

NEET MDS 2018 Counselling

As per MDS course Regulations 2017

There shall be a common counseling for admission to all post-graduate courses ( Diploma / MDS ) in all dental educational institutions on the basis of merit list of the NEET.

The designated authority for counseling for the 50% All India Quota seats of the contributing States, as per the existing scheme for post graduate ( Diploma / MDS ) courses shall be the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Further Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India shall conduct counseling for all post-graduate ( Diploma / MDS ) Courses in Dental Educational Institutions of the Central Government, Universities established by an Act of Parliament and the Deemed Universities.

The counseling for admission to post-graduate ( Diploma / MDS ) courses in all dental Educational Institutions in a State/Union Territory, including dental educational institutions established by the State Government, University established by an Act of State / Union Territory Legislature, Trust, Society, Minority Institutions shall be conducted by the State / Union Territory Government.

In case, any dispute arises on such common counseling, the matter to the Central Government and its decisions shall be final, in this regard. The counseling authorities for allotment of various types of seats to eligible and successful candidates is summarized as follows :

NEET – PG is an eligibility cum ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination to various MD / MS and PG Diploma Courses as per Section (10) of Indian Medical Council Act 1956.

NEET PG is a single window entrance examination for PG courses. No other entrance examination, either at state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to MD / MS / PG Diploma Courses as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 w.e.f. 2017 admission session.

Scope of NEET PG 2018

NEET PG 2018 shall be a single eligibility cum entrance examination namely ‘National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to Postgraduate Medical Courses’ for the academic session 2018 which will include the following :

  • All India 50% quota seats for MD / MS / PG Diploma courses ( all states except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana )

NEET PG Entrance Eligibility 2018

Candidates in possession of MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 and possess permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council and have completed one year of internship or / are likely to complete the internship on or before 31st March 2018, may apply for NEET-PG 2018 through online application system at website www.nbe.edu.in.

Eligibility Criteria for All India 50% Quota Seats

Candidates who have studied / qualified MBBS from the states of Andhra Pradesh*, Telangana*and Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for All India 50% Quota seats. However, the candidates who were nominated by the Government of India ( under central pool seats ) to do MBBS from Medical Colleges in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh*and Jammu & Kashmir shall be eligible for All India 50% quota seats.

Such candidates must submit a duly signed affidavit declaring that he / she was nominated by the Government of India ( under central pool seats ) to do MBBS from Medical Colleges in Andhra Pradesh*, Telangana* and Jammu & Kashmir. Eligibility Critieria For Foreign Medical Graduates

Indian citizens or overseas citizens of India who have obtained their Primary Medical Qualifications from Medical Colleges outside India should have qualified the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination ( Screening Test ) which is conducted by National Board of Examinations. Further, they should have been registered with MCI / SMC and should have completed their internship or likely to complete their internship on or before 31st March, 2018.

Foreign Medical Graduates are required to bring their FMGE Pass certificate issued by NBE on their testing day.

It is not mandatory for foreign nationals to have temporary registration with MCI at the time of writing NEET-PG. Foreign Nationals can write NEET-PG without MCI registration. The Medical Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post Graduate course limited to the medical college / institution to which he / she is admitted for the time
being exclusively for pursuing postgraduate studies. Provided further that temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subject to the condition that such person is duly registered with appropriate registering authority in his own country where from he has obtained his Basic Medical qualification, and is duly recognized by the corresponding Medical Council or concerned authority.”

Candidates found to be ineligible at any stage of NEET PG 2018 will not be permitted to appear in the examination and / or counseling. In an unlikely event of any ineligible candidate appearing and / or being successful in the NEET PG 2018, the results / candidature of such candidate shall be cancelled and / or are deemed to be cancelled.

Requests for appearing in NEET PG 2018 from candidates completing internship after 31st March, 2018 or having qualifications that are not recognized as per IMC Act shall be summarily rejected. Candidates are further advised not to canvass for the same. The cutoff date for completion of internship towards determination of eligibility for appearing in NEET PG 2018 shall be 31st March, 2018.

Registration and /or appearance in do not confer any automatic rights upon the candidate for admission at medical institute /college for MD/MS or PG Diploma Courses.

The dates indicated by candidates with regard to 12 months Compulsory Rotating Resident Internship in the application form ( i.e. internship starting and completion date ) shall be treated as final and candidates will be required to submit the original Compulsory Rotating Resident Internship completion certificate at the time of admission in allotted Medical College / Institute.

The cut off dates for the recognition of the Medical Colleges, from where the candidates have passed their MBBS Degree Course and completed compulsory rotatory Internship for the year 2017 will be as prescribed by MCI. The Colleges recognized after the cut- off date prescribed by MCI will not be considered.

Registration with M.C.I. / State Medical Council is necessary and its documentary proof should be furnished by the candidates on the day of examination and at the time of counseling / admission.

Some of the Universities / Institutions are having regulations that candidates who are already pursuing the PG Course in their University or in another University are not eligible for admission till they complete the course. The candidates who are already pursuing PG Courses either through All India Quota or State Quota and are applying for a seat under All India Quota / State quota seats may confirm the eligibility conditions of that University in this regard. NBE / MCC / MoHFW shall not be responsible if such candidates are refused for admission. Such candidates may opt
for the subject and the college at their own risk and cost.

A candidate can submit his / her online application form and appear for NEET PG 2018 only once for admission to the academic year 2018 – 2019. Candidates submitting multiple application form will not be allowed to appear in NEET PG.

Every student, selected for admission to a Post Graduate medical course in any of the medical institutions on acquiring MBBS Degree or an equivalent qualification thereto shall have obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India, or any of the State Medical Council(s) or shall obtain the same within a period of one month from the date of his / her admission, failing which his / her admission shall stand cancelled. Provided that in the case of a foreign national, the Medical Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post Graduate course limited to the medical college / institution to which he / she is admitted for the time being exclusively for pursuing postgraduate studies. NEET PG shall be a multiple choice questions exam delivered on computer based platform ( CBT ).

  • The examination comprises of 300 Multiple Choices, single correct response questions in English language only.
  • Time allotted is 3hr 30 min.
  • Negative marking : There shall be 25% negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.

NEET PG Application Form 2018

How to Apply

The Application form will be available from the official website of www.nbe.edu.in.

The online registration & scheduling for NEET PG 2018 begins on 31st October, 2017 from 3:00 PM onwards. Online applications can be accessed and completed till 23:59 hrs on 27th November, 2017.

Application Fee

  • Rs. 2750/- ( For SC / ST / PWD ( PH ) candidates )
  • Rs. 3750/- ( For General /OBC candidates )

The above exam fee is inclusive of examination fees and Information Bulletin. Please note that Information Bulletin will not be sold separately. Information Bulletin shall be available at NEET-PG website for information.

How to pay

The prescribed registration fee should be remitted through payment gateway provided using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by banks in India or through Internet Banking. For more information, please visit the website www.nbe.edu.in.

Candidates remaining absent from the examination or declared ineligible will forfeit their examination fee. Candidates are advised to read the rule position carefully and satisfy the terms and conditions for fulfillment of eligibility criteria before proceeding for payment of fees.

Fees shall neither be refunded nor carried forward if the application for NEET PG 2018 is rejected / candidature is found to be ineligible or candidate is unable to appear in the examination.

Submission of Application Form

The online registration and scheduling process for NEET PG 2018 for admission to MD / MS / PG Diploma courses for 2018 academic session is available at NEET PG website www.nbe.edu.in. Candidates are advised to carefully go through the registration & Scheduling guide available on the website before starting the online registration & Scheduling. The online registration & scheduling for NEET PG 2018 begins on 31st October, 2017 from 7:00 AM onwards.

Candidate may note that there is no option for submitting the form other than the online mode, offline applications or printed copies will not be accepted.

Candidates are advised to go through the instructions given and overview of the application before proceeding to fill up the online application.

Online Applications for admission to the examination should be completed by the prescribed cutoff date. At the end of Registration and Scheduling process the applicant will get a computer generated acknowledgement, this acknowledgment shall also be sent at the registered Email ID of the applicant. A print out of this acknowledgment constitutes the Admit Card cum Confirmation Slip. All fields marked* in the online registration form are mandatory.

Applications of candidates producing false or fabricated information will not be considered and candidates may be further debarred from appearing in any future examinations.

Candidates must preserve hard copy of application form ( confirmation page ) till the end of counseling process as details mentioned in acknowledgement form will be required by selected candidates for Registration for online counseling for allotment of PG seat under All India 50% Quota.

  • Candidate should make sure all information entered during the online registration process is correct.
  • Online information provided by candidates like name of candidate, contact / address details, category, PWD status, educational qualification details, date of birth, domicile etc during online registration and scheduling process for NEET PG 2018 will be treated as correct and NBE will not entertain, under any circumstances, any request for change in information provided by the candidates after the registration window i.e. 27th November, 2017.
  • NBE does not edit / modify / alter any information entered by the candidates at the time of online registration under any circumstances. Candidates have the opportunity to make any correction in the information provided by them during online registration till the end of Registration Window i.e. 31st October, 2017. Any request for change in information there after will not be entertained and candidates will have to approach the concerned counseling authority for the same.

NEET PG 2018 Counselling

The Merit Based Counseling for allotment of PG seats shall be in accordance with gazette notification dated 31.07.2017. As per the Gazette notification :

“The Designated Authority for counseling for the 50% All India Quota seats of the contributing States, as per the existing scheme for Diploma and M.D. / M.S. courses shall be the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Further, the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India shall conduct counseling for all post graduate courses ( Diploma, M.D. / M.S., D.M / M.Ch ) in Medical Education Institutions of the Central Government, Universities established by an Act of Parliament and the Deemed Universities.

The counseling for admission to Diploma and M.D./M.S. in all Medical Educational Institutions in a State / Union Territory, including, Medical Education Institutions established by the State Government, University established by an Act of State / Union Territory Legislature, Municipal Bodies Trust, Society, Company or Minority institution shall be conducted by the State/Union Territory Government.
