Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences All India Common Entrance Test 2008 (PIMS-AICET-2008)

For selection of candidates for admission to Postgraduate Courses in Medicine (MD/ MS/ MSc/ DIPLOMA), Dentistry (MDS), Physiotherapy (MPTh) for the year 2008.

Date and Time of Entrance Test Examination: Saturday – January 12th, 2008 from 3.00 PM to 6.00 PM

Mode of Entrance Test:

The AICET – 2008 PG will be of three hours duration. There will be one question paper for Common Entrance Test consisting 200 multiple choice questions (MCQ’s) based on the syllabus of undergraduate standard and shall cover all the subjects taught during undergraduate course (i.e. MBBS / BDS / B.P.Th as the case may be.)

Centers for Entrance Test:

The PIMS - AICET - 2008 PG shall be conducted at the following centers,

• New Delhi
• Mumbai
• Pune
• Loni

Number of Seats: The intake capacity for various courses as approved by the respective councils is given below Table 1 (a) (b) (c)

Distribution of Seats: The distribution of seats will be as follows:

a. General Category: 50 % seats are in this category. The admission to this category will be made on the basis of inter-se-merit of the candidates at AICET- 2008 PG.

b. Management Seats: 50 % seats are reserved under Management Category. The admission to this category will also be made on the basis of inter - se - merit of the candidates at the AICET - 2008 PG and Terms/Conditions applicable as prescribed by the Management. Candidates seeking admission under this category will have to apply separately and submit the same to the Office of The Registrar, Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, Loni. The Last date of submission of such applications is 20th March, 2008.

Eligibility for PIMS-AICET-2008

• Candidate who holds MBBS/BDS/B.P.Th. degree of a University recognized by MCI/DCI/ IAP and who has obtained full registration either from MCI/DCI/IAP or any other state council.
• Candidate who have passed MBBS / BDS / BPTh and undergoing one year compulsory rotating internship and who is likely to complete the same by 31st March 2008 can appear for PIMS-AICET- 2008 PG. However, he/she shall not be eligible for selection unless he / she completes compulsory rotating intership and obtains full registration on or before 05th April 2008 either from MCI/DCI/IAP or any of the state councils after passing the final .B.B.S./B.D.S./ B.P.Th. examination.
• Candidate who have been admitted to P.G. seat and resigned/left the seat OR who are previously registered and are persuing / have completed the P.G. degree course or have obtained P.G. degree are not eligible for the course.
