15 selected in Wipro Recruitment Drive

As many as 15 graduates in mathematics from various parts of the district were selected at the campus recruitment drive conducted by the Wipro at Priyadarshini Degree and PG College in Khammam on Thursday.

The campus placement drive was conducted for the 2010 passed-out graduates in mathematics. Nearly 300 graduates from different parts of the district, including rural areas, participated in the recruitment drive.

Wipro Assistant Manager G. Narendra, Priyadarshini college correspondent K. Naveen Babu, placement officer A.V. Ramana, vice-principal V. Rama Rao and others were present.

Earlier, addressing the students, Mr. Narendra explained the Wipro Academy of Software Excellence (WASE) programme being implemented by the company in collaboration with BITS-Pilani.

Unique Opportunity

“The programme offers a unique opportunity to the students selected in the campus recruitment drive to pursue MS course in computer science free of cost and secure placements in key positions,” he said.

Advice to Students

He exhorted the degree final year students to lay additional focus on basic mathematics, arithmetic reasoning and communication skills apart from their subject knowledge to excel in the campus recruitment drives.

Mr. Naveen Babu said that the initiative of Wipro would enable the talented students, particularly those from the rural areas, pursue higher education and secure bright job opportunities.
