Chennai: Issuance of application forms for M.B.B.S. and B.D.S. courses in the State will begin on
May 28 and the admission process will come to a close on
September 30, according to the schedule announced by Health Minister K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran on Saturday.
Mr. Ramachandran told reporters here that the admission process would be notified on
May 27. As per the schedule,
June 15 will be the last date for sale and receipt of application forms. Publication of the merit list is slated for
June 22.
Counselling:
The first phase of counselling will start on
July 2 and go on till
July 7.
The last date for joining the course in this phase is
July 18. Classes will begin on
August 1. The second phase of counselling will be held from
August 25 to 28.
The last date for joining the course is
August 30.
The Minister warned private medical colleges against collecting capitation fee or excess fee from candidates.
Action would be taken against erring managements on receipt of written complaints.
In the wake of reports of spread of Chikungunia in areas along the Kerala border, the Government had earmarked Rs. 7 crore for preventive measures, besides providing treatment to the affected people, Mr. Ramachandran said.
