There are 23 private TTIs in Erode district. Some students from three such institutes had filed a complaint with the Collector, T. Udhaychandran, that though they were selected through counselling, the managements collected huge amount and disallowed them to write the examination.

In another incident, the students complained that though they were allowed to write examination, the results were not published.

Following this, the Collector devised a new system of admission to the TTIs. All the candidates who were selected for the course have started joining from Monday.

In each TTI, a Government official in the rank of Deputy Tahsildar, was sent and instructed to check whether the institute was collecting above the fee decided by the Government.

Parents and teachers thanked the Collector for the new arrangement. The admissions would conduct till Wednesday.
