Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) will offer the following certificate courses in Open and Distance Learning modes from
July, 2007, onwards.
The courses are bee keeping, mushroom production, waste recycling and vermin-composting, sugar cane production technology, coconut cultivation, cutton cultivation, vegetable seed production, hyprid seed production in cotton and maize, wasteland development, repair and maintenance of farm equipment and machineries, preservation of fruits and vegetables, nursery techniques and propagation of horticultural plants, gardening and landscaping, medicinal plants, bakery and confectionery products and modern irrigation management.
According to a TNAU release, the courses will be useful for farmers, rural youth women, self-help groups, students and entrepreneurs. The duration of each course is six months. Personal contact programme, one per month, will be conducted fee is Rs.1, 500 per course.
Admissions are open and classes will commence from
July 2007 onwards.
