Air Force, Army Recruitment Rally

A test will be held from April 28 to May 4

Coimbatore: Indian Air force has invited applications from candidates from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for post of airman in Group Y and X (technical) trades. A test will be held at the Main Guard Room, Air Force Station, Avadi in Chennai from April 28 to May 4. The test will be from 7 a.m. and candidates will be allowed to report only up to 10 a.m.

Eligibility:

Candidates from Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri could take the test, physical fitness, interview and medical examination on April 28 and 29. Candidates from Coimbatore, the Nilgiris and Erode could take the test same on April 30 and May 1.

Candidates born between July 1, 1986 and September 30, 1990 (both days inclusive) along are eligible.

Army:

The Army has invited applications from male candidates of Tamil and Andhra Pradesh for recruitment for the post of Junior Commissioned Officer (Catering). Candidates should be in the age group of 21 to 27 years as on October 8, 2007. Candidates should have a height of 166 cm, weight 50 kg and chest measurement of 77 cm (with 5 cm expansion), candidates should have plus two or equivalent qualification from any recognized board besides a diploma or a certificate course of a duration of one year or more from a recognized institution. Screened candidates will have to take a written examination on May 27.

Last date for application to reach the Head Quarter Recruiting Zone, Fort St George, Chennai 600 009 will be April 27.

The Army has also invited applications from candidates for recruitment to the post of Junior Commissioned Officer in the Army as religious teacher. Fresh candidates should be between 27 and 34 and serving combatant as remustered candidates should be between 25 and 34 as on November 27, 2007. Candidates should have 155 cm height, 50 kg weight and 77 cm chest with five cm expansion.

The press release made it clear that the recruitment would be purely on merit and there was no need for payment of money. Candidates have been asked to be cautious about agents/touts.
