Chennai: The Directorate of Government Examinations has invited applications from eligible candidates for the Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) to be held in March 2007.
The candidates, who had failed in the HSE held earlier, could apply to reappear.
Similarly, candidates who had passed Class X public examinations or equivalents examination and completed 16 and a half years of age on or before April 1, 2007 and had a gap of two years from passing the Class X examinations, could also apply, a press release here said.
New text-books were published for computer science and advanced language (Tamil) for the year 2006-07. For these two subjects only, the examinations would be conducted based on the new books.
Direct private candidates, who are applying for the first time, would be admitted in one of the five groups mentioned by the directorate of government examination, in addition to part I and part II languages under the syllabus introduced in 2005-06.
Chennai candidates could remit the examination fees through demand draft or banker’s Cheque, obtained from any of the nationalized banks drawn in favor of ‘director of government examinations, Chennai – 6’.
All private candidates except those residing in Chennai should remit the examination fees only by Chelan in government treasuries.
Applications forms would be available from December 4 to 15 between 10.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. at the directorate of government examinations, College Road, Chennai or from the respective chief educational officers, the district educational officers, joint director (Education)
The examination in March 2007 would be held only under the syllabus introduced during the academic year 2005-06
Puducherry or regional deputy director of government examinations Tirunelveli, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tiruchy, Cuddalore and Vellore.
The candidates applying from Nagercoil, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Ramanathapuram, Sivgangai, Virdhunagar, Theni, Madurai, Dindigul, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Pudukottai, Karur, Perambulur, Tiruchy, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Karaikal, Puducherry, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Thiruvanamalai, Vellore, KANCHEEPURAM, Thiruvallur and Chennai should submit their filled in applications along with relevant enclosures by registered post, only to the offices of the Regional Deputy Director of Government Examinations before December 15.
