Ariyalur Panchayat Union School opened
The government schools functioning in the state possessed efficient teachers and the parents should take advantage of the same for building a bright career for their wards, said the District Collector, T. Abraham here on Friday.
The private schools take care in admitting only bright boys with an eye on the public examination results. But government schools admit even those who are poor in studies.
The teachers of the government schools leave no stone unturned in motivating and imparting training to these students to secure high marks in the public examinations.
The parents and their wards in government schools should understand this fact, Mr. Abraham said while speaking at a function to inaugurate a new panchayat union elementary school in Vannarapettai village in Karuppilakattai panchayat.
To drive his point home, he cited the example of a girl student of the school run by Tirunelveli Corporation securing state first rank in the SSLC exams last academic years (2009 – 10).
The parents should meet the teachers regularly to follow the progress made by their wards in studies, he said.
The government had accorded sanction for starting three panchayat union middle schools in the district and the other two schools will soon be started in Valajanagaran Rajiv Nagar and Senthurai Ambedkar Nagar.
Further four government elementary schools will soon be upgraded into middle schools in the district, he added.
Palai D.Amaramoorthy, MLA, Arivazhagan, district panchayat councillor, Jalalakshmi Viswanathan, president of the Karuppilakattalai panchayat, Jothivel, district elementary education officer and others spoke.
