Avinashilingam University for Women to Extend Training to Students in US Tax Laws

Coimbatore: GKM Inc, a US-based tax outsourcing provider, has signed an MoU with Avinashilingam University for Women to extend training to students in US tax laws.

This course aims at identifying the right candidates, training them on operations, leadership skills and team management within the context of a typical outsourcing environment. The course also aims at placing and inducting suitably trained manpower into the industry thereby ensuring that employees are effective from day one.

The basic minimum eligibility for participation in this training course is a bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Management or a distinction in any other major. The course targets a maximum intake of 40 candidates per batch.

The course will be spread across 120 hours on a part-time basis over four months during which period the candidates will be given training on US tax laws and applicable software. The training certification will be jointly awarded by Avinashilingam University and GKM Inc. According to a press release issued jointly by director, GKM Inc, G Karthikeyan and dean, Avinashilingam School of Management Technology Dr Shantha B Kurup, the growing need for tax preparers for US-based taxpayers is not supported by trained manpower during peak tax season. According to a Gartner India forecast, the finance and accounts outsourcing industry is expected to see a five-fold rise in the next three years.
