Bangalore University Zoology Result Puts Students in a Fix

Bangalore: Scores of Bangalore University (BU) final semester BSc students who had opted for zoology as their optional subject are a shattered lot.

The examination results, declared on Wednesday left many students wondering how they could have scored such abysmally low marks in their zoology.

One student, who has secured 56 out of 60 in biochemistry and 48 out of 60 in micro biology has secured only 13 in Zoology .Her result is "fail" an w per cent.

There are several such instances. Another student who has secured 51 out of 60 in biochemistry has been awarded 21 (just pass) in Zoology. There are worse cases, where students have been given single digit marks in the paper.

According to the university rules, students who have secured less than 15 marks in a paper cannot even apply for revaluation. A new provision passed by the Academic Council recently, which proposes to allow candidates who have scored good marks in all papers but in one or two papers to apply for revaluation, is yet to come into effect.
