Coimbatore: The courses offered through distance education mode at the Bharathiar University (BU) were approved by the Distance Education Council, said Prof G Thiruvasagam, Vice-Chancellor of BU, here today

All the 94 courses offered by BU were approved for a period of one year; the V-C said adding that the Council has made it mandatory now to get its approval. Each year, they inspect and renew the approval

MBA / MCA admission date extended: The University has extended that date of admission to MBA and MCA

The V-C said that the private management associations had planned to conduct the entrance examination for admission to MBA and MCA in the next week.

Hence, the University had extended 10 more days from the day of conducting examinations.

Weekly visit to colleges: The V-C would also make personal visits every week to a college to interact with the students and faculties in order to know their state of mind. “Unless we go to the college in person, we may not know their exact situation sitting within four walls,” the V-C said.
