Bharathiar University enhances 60 seats for IT courses
Affiliated colleges of Bharathiar University will now have 60 seats in the B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Information Technology and BCA.
“Rural colleges will get 10 per cent extra seats over and above the 60,” Vice-Chancellor G. Thiruvasagam told The Hindu.
Since the demand for Information Technology and IT-related courses were on the increase, the Syndicate had resolved thus in its recent meeting.
The Vice-Chancellor also said that retired people could register as research guides for those pursuing part-time Ph. D. “The age limit for them is 62.
They need not produce the No Objection Certificate that is required to be submitted by other guides. They will be paid Rs. 2,500 a year to guide a candidate.”
Admission to the course, that was earlier once in three months, would now be open throughout the year, he added.
