‘Bharathiar University plans to introduce a one-year MBA Program’

While commending the efforts taken by the Central and State Governments to show that their focus had indeed turned towards higher education, Vice-Chancellor of Bharathiar University G. Thiruvasagam, expressed despair that the country ranked only 101 in terms of the knowledge index.

Speaking at the inauguration of the 400-seater capacity auditorium at the Jansons School of Business, the Vice-Chancellor called for training-oriented education and on the job training while in college.

Referring to his recent visit to Chinese universities, he said that the trip enabled him to learn many lessons with respect to doing things in a better way in education.

“The university has plans to introduce a one-year MBA programme. This will enable more people to take up the course.

This will ensure more number of chief executive officers (CEOs). Our country is in need of more number of CEOs”.

Chairman of Jansons Group T. S. Natarajan referred to the Vice-Chancellor’s recent trip to China and termed it an achievement.

“He has signed memoranda of understanding with the Yunyung Teachers’ College and Huaihua University for exchange of knowledge across borders, which will be of great benefit to the students, faculty and institutions”.
