Coimbatore: The Bharathiar University (BU) is to set up a 'Science Park' in a sprawling 100-acre land in its-campus.
The proposed park, to be established by the School of Life Sciences of Bharathiar University possibly by next year, would have several pavilions like Agro Park, Medi Park, Tele Park, Space Age Park and Information Technology Park, the university vice-chancellor G Thiruvasagam said while inaugurating the School of Life Sciences here on Tuesday.
The Vice-Chancellor, who felt the need frit creating a science research environment in collaboration with local industries and technology from abroad, said the park would serve as a means of education to the students, general public and researchers in both India and abroad and stimulate and manage the flow of knowledge and technology among university research and development institutions, companies and markets.
