Chennai: Three leading engineering colleges including the Bharathidasan Institute of Engineering and Technology have not been granted approval by the All India Council for Technical Education this year pending submission of mandatory compliance reports.
The AICTE decision comes at a time when the engineering counselling is on .
An updated list of approved engineering colleges, hosted on the AICTE website on
July 24, said that the courses offered by the Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology in Karaikudi, Avinashilingam Institute of Home Science and Higher Education for Women (Deemed University) and the Bharathidasan Institute have not been approved as the institutions had failed to submit the compliance reports.
The Bharathidasan Institute was launched by the Bharathidasan University in Trichy in 1999.
