C.B.M College was established in 1974 by CBM Sakunthala Memorial Trust founded by the date Dharma Pravarthanah C.B. Muthuswamy Chettiar. The college is being managed by the trust under able guidance of Mr.C.M. Ramraj, the Secretary of the College.

In the span of thirty years of its existence, C.B.M. College has recorded tremendous growth. The College has highly qualified and experienced staff. The College offers 9 under Graduate Courses besides research courses leading to M.Phil and Ph.D. degree in all disciplines. The Department of Management Students is the one of the outstanding departments of the college.
