Common Admission Retail Test (CART) on January 27

Chennai: The Retailers Association of India (RAI) will conduct the first Common Admission Retail Test (CART) for its Post Graduate Program in Retail Management (PGPRM) in 25 cities on January 27.

Talking to newsmen on Friday, RAI Chief Executive Officer Gibson G. Vedamani said the objective was to provide students with a high level of knowledge and understanding of concepts and processes involved in retailing and equip them with operational and analytical skills necessary for a professional career in the retail sector.

Around 2,500 candidates are expected to take the first test, of which 1,500 will be short-listed for admission.

RAI is offering this course through 15 business schools in India such as Chennai Business School, Asian School of Business Management, Bangalore Management Academy, Rustomjee Business School, Mumbai, Managerial Excellence Resource Centre, Pune, ILIM-Gurgaon, IMIS-Bhubaneswar among others.

How to Apply for CART

Graduates of any discipline can appear for the CART by paying Rs.1,000 as registration fee. CART application forms are available online ( www.rai.net.in), at Career Launcher centres, select branches of Axis Bank, all PGPRM partnering B-schools, retail outlets of Shoppers’ Stop, Croma, Vishal Mega Marg, Viveks, Landmark, Bookstores, Odyssey, Bookstores, Big Bazaar, Crossword Bookstores and Kirtilals.

“The 90-mintue test would judge students in quantitative ability, data interpretation and logical awareness, verbal skills, business and consumer awareness,” Mr. Vedamani said.
