Praying for an interim injunction restraining the authorities from commencing counselling for admission to MBBS courses on
July 9, the petitioner said Plus Two students belonging to the 2006-07 batch should not be treated on a par with their counterparts of earlier batches, as the higher secondary syllabus had changed from the academic year 2005-06.
Special Government Pleader (Education) M. Sekar submitted the details and said the information in the affidavit was not correct. He said that 432 students, which constituted only 13 per cent of the total seats available in MBBS/BDS courses in Government as well as private medical colleges, belonged to the batches from 2002 to 2005. Their names figured in the rank list, and they were likely to get admission in a medical college, he added.
The Bench then adjourned the matter to
July 9, and asked the authorities to produce the rank list of candidates that day.
