DTU General Category Seats filled

Delhi Technological University has completed its first counselling session with all seats in the general category for both Delhi and outside regions getting filled.

The total number of seats available in the 14 full – time B.Tech courses of DTU was 1,128 after implementation of the OBC quota. Of these, 85 per cent or a total of 959 seats were available for Delhi candidates and 169 seats for outside candidates. Of these, 551 seats were offered to Delhi (open – general) candidates.

Admissions to all seats under the Delhi open – general category were filled during the first counselling, with the first seat filled at All – India Engineering Entrance Examination all – India rank 1,135 and the last seat filled at AIEEE all – India rank 11,969.

All of the 98 seats offered for the outside Delhi open category were also filled during the first counselling, with the first seat filled at AIEEE all – India rank 343 and last seat filled at AIEEE all – India rank 3,895.

A few seats are still available under the SC / ST and OBC categories for Delhi and outside Delhi students.

Since the last date to withdraw admissions is August end, some general category seats may also become available by second or third counselling.

DTU has announced 16th August, 2010 as the date for second counselling in the general category, and in case of vacant seats are available after the second counselling, a third counselling will be held on 30th August, 2010 and 31st August, 2010. Students unable to obtain a seat in the first and second counselling due to unavailability would be eligible to appear for third counselling.

DTU also announced revised counselling dates for Delhi ST / SC and OBC candidates. All eligible candidates in Delhi ST category can appear for counselling on 29th July, 2010, while all SC candidates with AIEEE ranks between 1,00,000 and 1,11,250 and OBC candidates with AIEEE ranks between 25,001 and 35,000 can appear for counselling on 30th July, 2010.

The entire fees of a candidate withdrawing admission before the due date for withdrawal would be refunded, with the payment of Rs. 1,000 as processing fees.
