Chennai: The State Government has announced the fees to be charged by the three self-financing medical colleges in the State for the current academic year. Heakh Minister KKS S R Ramachandran, in a statement here on Saturday, said that the Government had accepted the recommendations of the Justice Raman Committee on the fee structure for the self-financing medical colleges.
The Minister said that Chettinad Medical College, Padur, Kancheepuram district, should collect a fees of Rs. 3 lakh.
The Raman Committee had recommended to the college that poor students be charged 15 percent less than the prescribed tees.
While the fees for PSG Medical College, Coimbatore, was fixed at Rs 2.25 lakh, Sri Mookambikai Medical College, Kanyakumari district, had been asked to collect Rs 2.40 lakh, the Minister added.
