Indian Institute of Management Bangalore to raise intake by 7 percent this year
Bangalore: The prestigious Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, will increase its intake by seven percent to accommodate the OBC quota in a phased manner as approved by the Centre, IIM-B director Prakash G.Apte said on Friday.
Speaking to reporters here after signing an MoU with a Stanford Business School here, he said the intake would go up from the present 250 to 280.
Apte said the IIM-B had sought an additional central fund for Rs.140 crore, but the Human Resources Development ministry had agreed to provide just Rs.45 crore by March. “This will suffice for the seven percent hike in intake this year. If we have to increase the intake further, we would need more money,” he said.
