Improvement in building Classrooms
Chandana Khan, Principal Secretary Rajiv Vidya Mission, asked the district officials to speed up construction of additional classrooms in schools on a priority basis.
Addressing a meeting of officials here on Thursday, she said 450 classrooms were sanctioned in the last two years.
She underscored the requirement for construction of toilets in every school.
She said it had come to her notice that girl students dropped out in the absence of proper toilets at some places.
Schools were given freedom to outsource workers for keeping the toilets clean.
Ms. Khan expressed concern over non – use of computers given to schools.
At many places, the computers were laying idle in the absence of power supply.
All schools should ensure power supply and proper electrical fittings to operate computers.
The district officials told the Principal Secretary that 75 upper primary schools in the district were upgraded to high schools.
Thirteen Urdu schools were also sanctioned.
P. Janardhan Reddy, Director of Adult Education, asked the officials to revamp the adult education program in the district in view of low literacy levels among the women in the district.
She reviewed various program in implementation in the district that promoted education in the backward areas.
