Coimbatore: A new private engineering college, Info Institute of Engineering, was inaugurated here on Monday.

Established by the Dharbhari Charitable Trust at Kovilpalayam on Coimbatore-Sathyamangalam Road, the institute has been permitted to admit a total of 240 students for the first year of BE Computer Science, BE Electronics and Communication Engineering, BE Electrical and Electronics Engineering and B.Tech (IT) courses.

The classes will commence on Sept 7. ‘K.K. Veluchamy, chairman of the trust, said that the Info Institute of Engineering is affiliated to Anna University. The institute, which has come up on 30 acres, is committed to imparting quality technical education to the youth as the trust members are all technocrats engaged in engineering industries. Stating that the seats, including management quota, for all the four branches, have almost been filled, he said that the institute would not collect capitation fee. The last date for admission is Aug 30 as per the government rule.
