Karnataka State Open University Appointment Process Begins

The process of appointing non-teaching staff has been initiated at the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU). Announcing this to media persons here on Saturday, Vice Chancellor Dr Vivek Rai said the process had begun after a gap of 11 years in the history of Karnataka State Open University. He said interviews would be held from July 23 as part of the process and fair consideration has been given to all categories as per the university statute.

The VC said the State government had approved appointment of 192 posts pending from last few years. An additional 195 posts were also approved as part of future requirements. These will be initiated over a period of time, he said. With this, the university is provided with 387 posts. The process to fill posts of one reader and 21 teaching staff would be taken up as per the orders of the government.

The State has also given nod for ‘Prasaranga’ - a publication wing of Karnataka State Open University and Rs 50 lakhs is kept reserved as first instalment. Work is in progress for complete computerisation of admissions, exams and finance sections under with valuable inputs from Dr Chidananda Gowda and others who have served in various universities. A review committee has been formed to review the functioning of regional centres of the university, he added.
