Bangalore: The admission to post graduate courses in various universities in Karnataka for meritorious seats will be done through Common Entrance Test (CET) from this academic year, State Higher Education Minister D.H. Shankara Murthy said on Saturday.
Speaking after holding a meeting with the members of Karnataka Legislative Council, elected from graduates and teachers constituency, here said the members made several suggestions to safeguard the interests of the students coming under respective universities – while approving the State Government’s decision on the issue.
Murthy said the meeting evaluated various implications of introducing the new system for the admissions into various PG courses in arts, science and commerce faculties of various universities.
He said the new system would be introduced in the current academic year itself in which all the seats available in state universities would pooled together and admissions made according to the merit list of the CET.
