There are a number of websites on English learning. Some can be accessed free of cost and others require you to subscribe by paying an amount on a monthly or annual basis.
In this column, I’m going to review one site I’ve found interesting, user-friendly, interactive and useful.
Both teachers and learners can find rich resources on this useful site. It possesses all the characteristics of a good website. It has links to the following sections: News English, Business English, Watch & Listen, Grammar & Vocabulary, Communicate, Quizzes, Webcast, and For Teachers.
In the Grammar and Vocabulary part of the site you can find answers to the many questions sent in about the English language. There are also special features on areas of vocabulary and pronunciation.
If you need some help with English, you can send in your questions. Each week, English language experts answer common language problems sent in by learners. Do you want to know the difference in meaning between these words: wait / await; raise/rise and inquire/enquire?
In the Watch and Listen part, you can improve and practice your English with activities that involve listening and watching. After each section, there are plenty of exercises to test your comprehension. Given below is the link:
A blog is an online diary. Do you want to blog? You can write about anything. It is a platform for you to express your views and communicate to the world. It is also an opportunity to improve your writing skills. The site has two blogs. One blog is updated by a student and the other blog by an English language teacher. You will be able to ask questions to both bloggers and write about their blog.
