"Admissions to all courses should-be done on the basis of the CET results/' the First Bench, comprising Chief Justice A P Shah and Justice P Jyothimani, said while passing orders on a writ petition from one Bagyaraj of Pudukuppam in Alamathi near Chennai, challenging the GO dated
April 17, 2007, abolishing the entrance examination for BL admissions.
The Bench also said that the notification for conducting the CET should be issued within two weeks while the examination and admission process should be completed within four weeks thereafter.
The contention of the petitioner was that the 'normalisation process' to ensure equality in the selection of candidates for medical and engineering courses could not be applied in the case of BL, particularly for three-year law degree.
