Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Government on Friday constituted fresh committees to monitor admissions under the management quota in self-financing professional colleges and fix the fee for courses offered by them.

While the Committee for Regulating Admissions will be headed by retired Madras High Court judge Justice Thanikachalam, the Fee Committee will function under the chairmanship of another former judge Justice N.V Balasubramaniyam. They will replace Justice S.S Subramanian and Justice Raman respectively, announced Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy.

The Minister said there would be no revision in the fee structure and the students need to pay the fee, fixed last year.

The Committees were constituted as per the directions of the Supreme Court in the Islamic Academy Case.
