The seventh Indian Institute of Management will come up at Shillong
Coimbatore: In addition to the seven Indian Institutes of Technology, three more are proposed in the States of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan. The seventh Indian Institute of Management will come up at Shillong for the benefit of those in the North-Eastern States, G.K. Vasan, Union Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation, said here on Saturday. He also said in addition to the existing Indian
Institutes of Information Technology at Gwalior, Allahabad and Jabalpur, the Government had approved establishment of a new one at Kancheepuram.
Proposals were being considered for 20 more to cover each major State through private-public participation mode. Delivering the convocation address at Kearnya University, he said with a view to giving a fresh impetus to higher education.
