Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University Signs MoU

Coimbatore: Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Special Olympics Asia Pacific and Special Olympics Bharath.

Research:

All academic training programmes of these agencies will be held at the university. They will also collaborate with the university in research and extension programmes in the field of Special Olympics, according to release.

It would also be made mandatory for all the officials to acquire postgraduate diploma and diploma in Special Olympics to be eligible to become a coach of the accredited Special Olympic programme.

New Department:

The university also inaugurated a ‘Faculty of General and Adapted Physical Education and Yoga’ centre on the premises.

The aim of the new Department would be to promote interest in sports and fitness among the disabled and bring them into the mainstream, the release said.
