Chennai: Dr MGR University conducted a ‘Researchers Meet’ for research scholars in the city recently.
The meet was convened to facilitate research scholars to present their research problems in the form of a paper or visual presentation and also to interact with a team of panelists drawn from academic institutions, R & D organization and industrial establishments.
The research meet was inaugurated by former deputy director, IIT Madras, C R Muthukrishnan. In his address, he emphasized the need for establishing a research wing for solving societal problems through development of research and research projects.

He also said numerous industries were looking towards collaboration and universities for solving many intricate problems and technicalities.
K Jeyachandran, vice – chancellor of the university stressed the need for faculty members to register for PhD programs. Pro – chancellor, R M vasagam highlighted the various developments and progress made by the university in the area of research and research – related projects.
H V Ramakrishanan, additional rector; R Bhavani Shankar, principal director and coordinator of the researchermeet, Rama Vaidyanathan, head of the department, Industrial Bio – technology and S Dinakaran, registrar also participated.
