Thanjavur: In view of heavy rush for admission to B.Tech programmes and with the cut off marks remaining high, Prof. S. Vaidyasubramaniam, Dean (Planning & Development) said that the management of SASTRA University decided to increase the seats by 10 per cent in each branch for this year. This is to provide for students who have studies both standards X and XII in High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools in Thanjavur district.
This is intended to fulfill one of SASTRA main objectives of encouraging the students aspiring for higher technical education, hailing from the surrounding rural areas in the district.
Only students who have applied already are eligible for this provision.
