Komarapalayam: SSM College of Engineering has signed a memorandam of understanding (MoU) with Sathyabama University, Chennai, to exchange information, experience, students, faculty and infrastructure facilities for the development of institutions.
Sharing the details with the media here on Thursday, M. S. Mathivanan, chairman of the college, said the understanding, signed on
April 24, would go a long way in helping his college, which was in a rural area.
According to the understanding, the university would provide placement assistance to SSM College of Engineering by sending / referring companies and corporate houses for campus interviews.
Further, both the institutions would jointly organize national and international seminars, conferences, workshops and symposia in disciplines of interest.

July 2007, the institutions would conduct an international conference on the latest developments in computer science, Mr. Mathivanan said. For the students, though, experts from the institutions would train them.
There would also be a faculty exchange programme. This would be in addition to sharing library, equipment and machinery, he added. The agreement in valid for five years and will be renewed on mutual interest.
